Battery may be flat in the fob or the vehicle has forgotten the code for the fob. and will need resetting. change the battery use the key to open the door put key in the ignition. ( fob Ir old type leave fob off the key) turn to number 2 and press fob till doors lock and unlock. then its reset. dont be worried if the alarm goes off while doing this it will go off when the code is restored. if you have 2 fobs you will need to rest that one to.

if it is a aftermarket alarm, get rid of the alarm, or unlock and lock door w/ key am alarms are a problem when they go awry

You should have a switch under the dash and then just turn it to the off position. If you don't or it doesn't work (like mine) then, there is 2 fuses under the dash, put the key in the ignition and turn it forward, pull one of the fuses out and then start the car that should reset it. Then you should be able to put the fuse back. Sometimes if you put the fuse back before starting it the alarm will just continue to try and reset itself, but not start the car. If that doesn't work I have a mechanic who can pull the whole alarm out and when hes done it would look like nothing has ever been installed. Hes very good. I ended having him take my alarm out when I had the same incident happen after the 2nd time.

take the fob to the dealer parts counter the can test the signal. More then likely it has an interal failure in the RKE remote.
