Kymco xciting 500 won't start making clicking noise @

I was riding and bike just died. I just recently bought a new battery. When I turn ignition key there is a clicking noise. Like a bad starter on a car. Could it be the spark plug needs replacing?

not sure how much gas is in it but buy yourself a bottle of gas line antifreeze and put a half bottle in your tank now and a half next time you fill up. it absorbs any water in your fuel.

SOURCE: 2007 Kymco Xciting 500: Jumper

the stator produces ac current and the voltage regulator/ rectifier converts the ac current to dc current and keeps your battery charged.

So its probably your voltage regulator.
when engine is off the battery should read 12.5 volts
At idle the baterry should read 12.8+ volts
at 2000 rpm battery should read 13.0 - 14.8 volts

if your not getting those readings your voltage regulator is bad.
you can find them at parts for scooters dot com pretty cheap and they ship fast.

as for the speedo, you may be able to take apart and reset the needle. Some you can't even get to.
so you may have to get a new one.

SOURCE: My 2007 Kymco Xciting 250 has a new battery - cranks - but will still not turn over. Spark plug and coil are both good, but will still not turn over even with starting fluid in the carb - any thoughts

What do you mean by wont turn over? is the engine spinning over and not starting or is it doing nothing when start button is pushed?

There's a button covered with rubber on the left side of the dashboard. Using a thin stick, push this firmly and hold (while the bike is running) for about 1 minute. Fixed.
