Idles but won`t accelerate

Removed carbs and cleaned all jets and passages. Cleaned slides. Checked diaphrams. Cycle sat for 3 to 4 months. Started it and ran on 1 cylinder. Found no fuel coming out of carb. bowl drain. Now engine idles but dies when trying to accelerate. Can accel. if carb clean is sprayed in intake. When ignition is turned on, you can hear fuel pump clicking and then stops and while engine idles, pump clicks one time every two and a half seconds. All this happened after sitting. It has only 7200 miles. It`s a 2003 1100 v star classic.

Thank you

fuel pump sounds fine.
Check for kinked or blocked lines.
If it has a fuel recovery cannister service it.

Will not run without choke 1997 Suzuki GSF 1200 Bandit S

Hello, bike not running off of choke is an indication that the pilot circuit in the carbs is plugged.. the choke is a enriching circuit hence why it runs only with the choke on. When turned off the bike starves for fuel and dies. My guess is the bike has sat for longer than 4 months and the pilot jets are plugged from varnish... they will need to be removed and properly cleaned.

Carb problem

Sounds like it has sat for some time, if so then the jets in the carbs are clogged and need to be cleaned out. You could try running some carb cleaning gas treatment, it might work if the jets are not completely blocked. It may take 3 or 4 tanks to clear them.

sync 'ing the carbs you need either a manometer or two vacuum GAUGES. pREFERABLY A MANONMETER..iT'S A MATTER OF BALANCING THE CARBS TO HAVE THE SAME VACUUM AT THE SAME POINT OF THROTTLE OPENING.. WHAT IS YOUR LOCATION?

1979 GS750L Engine running out of gas. Cleaned gas

vacuum opens the fuel tank petcock. The carbs have thier own means ofmetering fuel in the yhemselves. So, I'd say the carbs need to be pulled and cleaned, all jets should be cleared of corrosion and float levels ck'd if equiped. good luck.

Vstar 650 classic. only will idle.

hello and welcome
this is a very very commom problem after the cycle has gone over a storage period of anything over a month or so. what has happened is the deteriorated fuel has plugged the idle jet, and possibley other jetting. this is verified by pulling out the choke allows it to run. because this makes of for the loss of fuel the jets are not produceing. so to fix this you will need to remove the carbs and take out the jets and clean them thoroughly with a carb cleaner and possibly a very small gauge wire to break up builup. especially in the pilot jet. unfortunately fuel added carb cleaners dont seem to work for this kind of problem and to fix right they should be disassembled and cleaned thoroughly. thank you.

Yamaha TTR 125 L won't idle

this is very tipical. when bikes are stored the fuel varishes up the jets & needles. soak the carb. moving it back and forth in the soak solution. then blow every jet and orfice with a controlled air source. note: any speck of rust or dirt can plug these jets. pay attention to detail and do every thing twice. then install the carb and adjust it to your riding style. later Spike
