My 2012 Taotao 49cc scooter was spitting and sputtering then just died one day. I brought to a small engine repair person and come to find out, the hoses that came off the carb had cracks in them. Changed the hoses and the problem went away. Hope this helps.. I have since replaced the cheap hoses with new ones from the auto parts store and never had the problem again.
pull the spark plug and crank it and check for spark if it has spark spray a little starting fluid in carb and it should sputter if it does the carb is gummed up the needle is stuck in the seat remove carb take the screws that hold on the fuel bowl out you will see the float wiggle it up and down slowly you will see the needle not moving slide the pin out that holds in the float you gotta tap it out with something small like a small punch or a nail spray the needle with carb cleaner only to soften the gummed up buildup and wiggle up the needle and float clean it all with carb cleaner and reassemble it should start now hope this helps
Sounds to me like you have a direct drive model with no clutch. With the direct drive model you just warm up the motor with no rider and wheel off the ground then turn it off and push start it "push and Go". The trick to push staring is stomping your weight down near the back tire as you push forward to get the rear tire turning. Once it turns so will the motor and it will start and your off and running. Do the push start without applying throttle and make sure you have the rear wheel adjusted against the drive roller correctly..
