SOURCE: need specs.for Honda rototiller motor

Hello
The valve clearance is 0.08 for intake valve and 0.11 for exhaust valve . To do the timing you have to remove the spark plug and set the piston at top dead center (all the way up) and on the cam pulley you have a mark (like a triangle) that you have to align with the fan cover bolt hole . Hope this help

Set the piston at top dead center (TDC), position the cam so that both valves are closed then assemble.
That engine is based on a Honda engine. The Honda has an overhead cam that is driven by a cam chain. The cam drives rocker arms that open the valves. So your statement about push rods sounds fishy.

2004 honda accord ex 2.4L, how do I set cams before putting on timing chain?

Not with the valve rockers in position. If you do then the valves will bend as they hit the pistons

How do i set the valve and cam timing on a 1984 honda 200r motorcycle?

XL500 XL250 XR600 XR90 All much the same Piston has to be top dead centre on compression stroke there is a mark on fly wheel as well, make sure you don't move it after setting it up. line cam up with valve case there are two horizontal lines on both sides of cam sprocket they face towards you then line it up with the top of engine case horizontal very important make sure the cam lobes are facing up so they won't be putting pressure on valves when tightened down if everything lined up and nothings moved put top on and bolt down. I forgot you got to loosen chain tensioner then retighten after bolted down, then turn engine over slowly couple of times to make sure every thing good and nothing catching or hitting then check valve clearance ex 0.08mm inlet 0.05
