Yes, I would agree that you've got a bad starter relay. As for the engine quitting while you are riding, that could be many different things - but when combined with the starting problem, I would suspect a bad electrical connection at the relay - or between the battery and the relay. I don't know for sure about your bike but generally most bikes have the main power connector near - or at - the starter relay. From there the power goes directly to the fuses and gets distributed to the rest of the bike from that point.
Again, I am not intimately familiar with your bike, but to find the relay, just follow the clicking sound. Usually, the relay isn't too far from the battery or the main fuse box. The starter relay will always have two large cables attached to it - one from the positive side of the battery, the other going to the starter motor.
