I Have a Keeway Supershadow 250, after storing it for the winter, without any preping, the bike wouldn't start, so i jump started it from my car left it run for about an hour but then it just cut out with battery totally dead, then took the battery out and gave it a full charge on bench put it back in, it had power but wouldn't start the bike so jumped from the car again but the bike cut out again after about an hour with battery dead. What can i do to rectify this? Do i need a new battery or is it another problem? Any help appreciated.

One of two: Your battery is totally dead (very common in the winter if you left it on the floor), or your bike could be facing problems with the charger system.

Go to this page:

KEEWAY SUPERLIGHT BATTERY

and us the translator. There you have tips and the electric diagram of the Keeway Superlight.
Good Luck.

Hi,
I had the same problem... (what i did is)
- take out the battery,
- clean the dust & dirt from the top of battery
- remove the plastic which seals the battery (yes, the one clearly marked "DO NOT OPEN") but do pay attention not to damage it.
- replenish with distilled water
- charge and after charge check whether the level of distilled water is OK
- put back the plastic seal and close it firmly
mount it .. and have fun ..

Gas tank

no...Full is on...res is reserve...Pri is Prime.
Do not leave it on prime !!! This is for re-filling the carbs when they have been emptied.
It is a vacuum operated tap, when switched to full or reserve, fuel only flows when the engine turns over...prime flows fuel all of the time.
The tap should be set to full unless fuel is running low.
Leaving it on prime when not running can lead to serious engine damage !!!

I have bought a keeway supershadow the button start wont work

sounds like youve got a bad connection on button or the wires from it down the bars to headlight area ! a multi metre would help find it !

Leaking carburater

The float valve in the carb is sticking or the float height setting is incorrect or the float has a hole in it.
Do not use Pri on your fuel tap until this is sorted as it could cause hydraulic lock in your engine, which will wreck it. Fuel will flow through your carb into the engine when it is parked.
This will also ruin your engine oil as the fuel will mix with it. Check the oil level to see if it has increased...

Spark plugs

Sort your carb settings out...it sounds like you have an over-fueling problem causing the plugs to foul.

How can i jump start my vmax ? i cant seem to get the seat out!

taking the seat of a vmax is really easy. open the seat like your gonna full the gas tank, on both sides is a plastic piece coming from the seat. on nut on each side comes out and the seat lifts back and up. if your talking about just starting with a battery cable you can just reach the battery cables with the seat off. if your talking about jump starting by forward motioin and using the clutch its best to find a hill and get it going and put the bike in 2nd gear and let the clutch out. WARNING. If the bike don`t start you probably won`t be able to push it up hills, it weighs 650 lbs. but you can not jump start the bike without taking off the seat. suggestion, buy a battery tender terminal hookup for $5 and screw the two wires onto your batter and let if hang out the side of the seat, it has a cap over to keep it dry in the rain and if you buy a battery tender you will be able to jump the bike or charge the battery without taking of the seat every time. the battery tender cost from $20 to $40 it s worth the money. if your not going to ride you bike in the winter hook up the battery tender and leave the battery out of the bike for the winter in a garage or basement hooked to the battery tender. cost pennys a month and save the battery life.
hope this helps

Can't get Keeway ARN to start

If you did not prep the bike for winter storage with Sta-Bil in your gas you might have some clogged carb problems You say this is a scooter but the description at top calls it a motorcycle. If it's a scoot then your engine and carb are underneath all that plastic your sittin' on.If it's a motorcycle your carb is right behind the engine between ur legs. It has a rubber gas line connected to it. Get some starter fluid from your local auto parts store and spray a short burst into the air cleaner and then hit the starter button. It should start but if it won't sit there and idle youv'e got a plugged card idle jet...time for a mechanic....next year prep the bike and disconnect the battery and you won't have to buy a new one....Good Luck !!
