The seal under the dirt seal on the fork was leaking when I picked the bike up from the owner. left the fork oil under the dirt seal kept bouncing the forks up and down for 4 days the seal got soft from the fork oil so I pulled the dirt seal up then cleaned the fork oil under it with a rag then checked it for leaks then pushed dirt seal back down in the groove and its not leaking now 200 miles and still dry.
Check first to see if the leaking fork has any rust pitting on the chrome,if it has and its a very small blemish then fettle it off first, and just replace the leaking seal,as the saying goes..if it aint broke dont fix it,if the seals had been in the forks for years and the bike not used then consider replacing both..

I own two 2003 Honda Silverwings 600. One of them has developed a vibration problem for the last several thousand miles (I just had the belt replaced at 8,000 miles as well as the rollers and the problem continues). The other one just lit the amber V light at 16,000 - is this just a warning to have the belt checked/replaced or? Please HELP. Thank you and God bless.
