I left the parking light on and left for a few days. Came back to a flat battery, and stuck at the airport. I jumped from an idling car directly to the battery, but the bike wouldn't idle. Trucked the bike home, charged the battery but it still wont idle. I must have fried something. Does anyone know what needs to be changed to fix the problem. The local BMW dealer can't look at the bike for over a month and I start 6 weeks vacation with plans to ride from BC, Canada through Wa, Or and Ca maybe wrecked
I'm having a similar electrical/idling problem with my Dakar with 6K miles on it and 2 seasons on battery. What did you finally determine as cause?
I am not sure though, but just check the bike's manual for a FUSE. It is because I too had a bike but not a good one and I had some what similar issues. I found that the Fuse in the bike has gone. If the fuse has gone bad then the bike will not run So try changing the Fuse.
