Hi I have a 2006 kia caren which has lost most of its power I had a friend look at it and said something about it being the tappers. What could it be
Tappets......... perhaps is what your friend said. The tappets are part of the engine inlet and exhaust valve set up. Most tappets are self adjusting in modern motors, (Hydraulic).
The old fashioned tappets are manually adjusted during regular car servicing. This happens at set intervals, for instance every 20,000 miles.
Inlet valves allow air and fuel into the engine and exhaust valves let the burnt fuel and air out.
Tappets are fitted between the inlet and exhaust valves, they ensure that the valves open on time and more importantly close properly. If the tappet happened to be badly adjusted and did not let the valve close properly then damage to the valve and cylinder head can happen by burning.
If you have a significant power loss I would be surprised to find that the just tappets/valves were to blame.

Have the sedona scanned at an AutoZone or similar place and ask for code. they will not tell you whats wrong with it but they will give you a code. You can go from there. You can come back and tell us what the code is .

Take a look underneath for cable running to each rear wheel & then come together at one cable going forward. Adjustment should be in that "Y" area.

1 Clean out glove box. Remove support rod. It's on the right -- push it off of the knob.
2. Remove stoppers on both sides to let the box hang freely on the hinges. Using a screwdriver pry out the stopper while pulling it towards you. -- lift the box during this operation.
3. Remove the filter cover by "lifting" both lock tabs and prying/pulling on both sides of the cover.
4. Remove filter and clean or replace in reverse order. Note the directional arrow on the filter face.
It is more durable than it looks. Good luck.

1. Open driver's door. Turn ignition to "ON" position.
2. Locate the programming button on wiring harness pigtail. It is
behind the left side of the center console (to the right of the gas
pedal). It is next to the RKE module. (feel around under the plastic
wall)
3. Press and hold the programming button for 15 seconds. The horn will sound 3 times when it enters programming mode.
4. Press the lock button on the transmitter. The horn should sound once
to confirm the transmitter. Repeat for any additional transmitters. You
apparently can have up to 4 transmitters.
5. Turn ignition to "OFF" and test transmitters.

FIRST: If it is under warranty, take it to the dealer!
If not, from your rather limited description it sounds as though the attachment rod that operates the latch mechanism is either so loose or disengaged that it will not rotate the security latch to "unlock" your door. Open up the attachment point and the panel to determine what exactly has loosened or failed and replace the hardware and then properly secure eveything.
