SOURCE: Rear cylinder not firing

The first thing I would do is replace the spark plugs again. You can foul a plug and it will cause you more problems than you can ever imagine. I see you have done all the logical things that I would recommend but I did not see you have replaced the plugs after the 200 miles. You would be surprised at how many times a $2.00 part can cause fits beyond belief.

You need new regulator and new battery. The battery works as a filter as well.If it is in bad condition it does not filter anything and in high rpm the current is very high.

My 2002 Yamaha Road Star Midnight has no spark

I have 2002 road star midnight. I lost completely spark on all 4 spark plugs. Before bike was running OK but sometimes on low RPM while idling would skip a firing on a at least one cylinder making spufff like sound. I put new spark plugs, and wiggled a little coil wires. Bike with new spurk plugs would not fire up at all. Checked for spark on all 4 spark plugs - no spark., not even an electrical I lost completely spark on all 4 spark plugs. Before bike was running OK but sometimes on low RPM while idling would skip a firing on a at least one cylinder making spufff like sound. I put new spark plugs, and wiggled a little coil wires. Bike with new spark plugs would not fire up at all. Checked for spark on all 4 spark plugs - no spark., not even an electrical charge going to spark plug. Went back to coils. Each coil (there 2 of them) has 2 spark plug wires and 2 ignition timing signal wires connected to them. I realized that these ignition timing wires contacts are corroded to the point they would not conduct a charge from the distributor to coil. CLEAN ALL THE TIMING WIRES Contacts on the coils. I did that and bike fired up right away and started running much better without sputtering or skipping a cylinder firing. SO DISCONNECT ALL THE COIL WIRES AND BRUSH THE CONTACTS WITH A SMALL METAL WIRE BRUSH.

2 cylinders not running

i would actually replace the caps and leads on side not working, a bad connection may still spark when not under pressure, then test coil before i think about cdi

Hi I have a 1998 kawa 1100 zzr the problem is strucale to start I must pull the chock and as the motor start to swing I must open the throttel fully and keep it there until bike start and then I must close...

Hey Heinrich,
Sorry.. but it sounds like the problem is still your carburetors.
I would replace the spark plugs AFTER you have a Qualified Professional clean and set your carburetors!! Also have the compression checked on all 4 cylinders....Sometimes low compression will cause a hard starting problem...

No spark to rear cylinders runs good and then runs on one cylinder 1986 honda shadow 1100

try switching the position of the two coils, the plug wires will unscrew off of the coils and that way you dont have to pull the spark plug wires too,(be sure and change the 2 wire couplers too) if your front cylinder stops firing you know its the coil, if the back cylinder still doesn't fire then your coil is good and you either have a bad #2 spark unit or a bad crank pulse generator.

Ok i recently changed spark plugs on my 1994 buick skylark. when i was done changing plugs i started car up and smelled strong exhaust smell. so i checked the plugs wires and found out that when i pulled...

Did you mean coil the 1994 3.1 did not use a distributor , sounds like a bad coil pack and cylinders #3 and #6 do use the same coil. I would also check 3 and 6 plug wires this system is a waste spark design meaning when # 3 coil fires it is supposed to go through #3 plug wire , through #3 plug ( ground) through the engine block through the #6 plug then through the #6 wire then back to the coil, Then when #6 fires it works the opposite way, so in theory you could have one bad wire affecting 2 cylinders .....

Xs750 what is the firing order

There is no firing order. Your bike has a coil that fires on both the compression stroke and the exhaust stroke (also called a wasted spark). Therefore either plug wire can go on either cylinder and the bike should run the same.On four cylinder bikes this meant that you could run four plugs using only two coils and two sets of points instead of four coils and four points. If the bike is running poorly try new spark plugs and new spark plug caps first(start with the cheap stuff). Next check the actual coil and pulse pick up or points. You may have to replace the coil only because the wires are cracked shorting.

The bike only runs on cylinders 1 & 4 there is no spark getting to the plugs on 2 & 3 i have changed the coil this had on effect i also noticed that the rev counter does not work as well any tips...

is there power and pulse to coil 2&3 Cyl? rev counters run of the coil pulse.Number 2&3 cylinders are likely to be fowled now so replace plugs and retry (a fowled spark plug will never fire) it will only track

Starts ok but only running on two cilinders

What have you done if anything to check out this problem?
Several causes could be: 1. Not getting fuel do to clogged jet in the carbs for those cylinders. 2. Fould plugs in those cylinders. 3. Not getting spark to those cylinders/bad coil 4. no compression in cylinders that don't fire.
So run the bike and determine which cylinders are not firing for sure. use a squirtgun and hit the header with some water. running cylinders with smoke the water. non running will not. Then remove and replace the plugs.(look at old ones, all oily=bad) See if they are wet and shiny but not black...Not shiny=no fuel. Tear carbs apart and clean. Check to see if you have spark leave spark plugs unintsalled from motor but installed in spark plug boot. see if they spark when you start it. Do a compression check. wet and dry. could be rings or valves.
If the bike was sitting for a while then probably clogged jets...This is where stabil comes in handy or else drain the bike at the end of the season.
