Drain and replace the gas with fresh.
Remove the air cleaner and spray carb cleaner into the inlet. Work your throttle a little then put everything back together and try to start it.

2001 raptor 660 won't idle, only runs with choke on, an won't take throttle???

need your carb rebuilt or your carb readjusted. sounds like you might have some mud in it. do you take it in the mud? if so check the top where the throttle cable comes through.

Sounds like the carb has over flowed and filled the crankcase with gas.
You will need to drain the oil, and re-fill it with new oil at the proper amount. Also replace the oil filter.
Clean the air filter and replace the spark plug.
Clean the carb, making sure the float and float needle are functioning properly.
That should fix you up!

Back fireing 660 raptor

when its hot and humid you could be having a ignition coil or cable problem.check cables and replace plugs, then take it from there. have your ignition coil tested also. backfiring is a sure sign of an ignition problem
