Speedometer stopped working on 2001 Victory Motorcycle

I have a 2001 Victory 92C Deluxe Crusier with 1850 miles on it. Today the speedometer and odometer suddenly stopped working. Any suggestions as to why this might happen? Could the speed sensor be unplugged. If yes, where on the bike is that located? on the way home from work this morning, speedo was working fine, hit a bump, speedo went to 90 mph, then 40, then zero, was intermittant for a mile, then stopped registering completely. Balance of instruments appear to be working.

Check if it uses cable or if it electronic.
If it uses cable the lower end is attached on the front wheel axle.Maybe you have to buy a new cable.
If it is electronic usually it senses the pulse from the gearbox (the sensor is towards the swingarm).

Speedometer stopped working on 2001 Victory Motorcycle had the same problem after finding out the voltage going to speedo was very low i used a 1 1/2 volt battery unhook speed sensor used 2 wires one from ground going to ground side of the 1 1/2 AA battery and the other from power side going to signal side to the speedo that would be the center wire for a 3 wire sensor dont hold the wire on tape it on the power side of the battery you should see the speedo work this will tell you if it is the speedo or the sensor but make sure you have the 12 volts going to the sensor the to outer wires.you can't check the sensor i found out I needed a sensor to fix my problem 100.00 for a sensor 400.00 for a speedo.

THE SPEED SENSOR IS LOCATED AT THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE ABOVE THE DRIVE BELT. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM REPLACING THE SENSOR SOLVED THE PROBLEM.

How to hook up 4wire speedometer(grn,. Blk., Blue/wht stripe, red/blk stripe)on 2000' victory motorcycle??

To hook up a 4-wire speedometer on a 2000 Victory motorcycle, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Locate the connectors for the speedometer wires. These are typically located near the speedometer or in the wiring harness near the front of the motorcycle.
  2. Identify the wires on the speedometer. The colors of the wires should match the colors you listed (green, black, blue/white stripe, and red/black stripe).
  3. Connect the green wire to the ground wire or terminal on the motorcycle. This is typically a black wire or a metal ground point on the frame of the motorcycle.
  4. Connect the black wire to the power wire or terminal on the motorcycle. This is typically a red wire or a positive terminal on the battery.
  5. Connect the blue/white stripe wire to the signal wire or terminal on the motorcycle. This is typically a white or yellow wire that carries the speed signal from the speed sensor to the speedometer.
  6. Connect the red/black stripe wire to the lighting wire or terminal on the motorcycle. This is typically a blue wire that powers the lighting on the speedometer.
It's important to make sure that the connections are secure and that the wires are not damaged. If you are unsure of how to connect the wires or if you encounter any difficulties, it may be best to consult a mechanic or the motorcycle's service manual for further guidance.

Cadillac catera 01' odometer and trip meter stopped working at exactly 73,200 miles - everything else in the gauge cluster still works.

this sounds like a bad speedometer cluster, you stated everything else works so i assume the speedometer is working and just the odometer and trip stopped working and so the speedometer will need replacing. good day.

Motorcycle speedometer problem

Check the wiring harness under the speedometer to make sure everything is connected tightly.

Have you had your front wheel off at any time?
What usually happens is the magnetic speed sensor at the front wheel was not lined up properly when the wheel was replace and it broke. A very common occurrence.
