2011 Suzuki GSX-R 1000 L1 Key inserted, click on ignition, light dims but does not start, a random problem not always

All of a sudden today while in a STOP signal, tried to start my Gixxer 1000 L1, the light dimmed but did not start, turned it off and on, then it started, the behavior is random, some times it starts, sometimes it does not. This is for the first time I experienced such a thig, and it was consistentently happening, battery is not issue as it was replaced 8 months back. Hence the instrument cluster as usual lights up when I turn the key on, the fuel pump also run for 3-5 seconds, everything normal donno where is the disconnect

Sounds like there is a short in the ignition wiring 12v side or ground side, check your contacts with a miltimeter and the next time it wont start try jumping the starter to your 12v switched source, bypassing the ignition, It the starter making noise when it does this?

check the fuel filter it sounds like it's pluged and causing too much back presure this is causing an over load in the fuel pump causing it to stop working or to presure lock

SOURCE: dash lights, etc, and fuel pump starts with

Check the battery terminals and the main earth connection. Also symptomatic of a dying battery. The voltage seems to be dropping right off as soon as you put a significant load on.

SOURCE: I have a 04 gsxr600 and now it won't start. Dumb

Sorry to say, your battery is dead. The reading you got was under no load conditions. Put a load of about 50 amps across it and the voltage will probably fall to just about nothing if even your lights are pulling it down to probably about 8 volts. Only one solution here - you have to replace the battery.
