There are four cups in a quart. One cup is 8 ounces. One quart is 32 ounces. 4 x 8 = 32 or 32 divided by 8 = 4 Garcuda

How many dry pinto beans can you cook in 17 quart electric roaster

1 cup of dry pinto beans plus 2 cups of broth or other liquid = 6 cups of cooked beans.
1 Quart = 4 cups so, a 17 Quart cooker would hold 68 cups of cooked beans (including liquid), to the brim.
11 cups dried beans = 66 cups cooked. I recommend:
10 cups dry beans + 20 cups liquid = 60 cups cooked beans

If you have 2.5 pints and you add .5 cups how much do you have

Depends where in the world you are and how big your cup is.

Recipes were designed to use cups as a measure because as long as the same cup was used the proportions remained the same regardless of the cup size and each recipe could be followed exactly.

Interfering busybodies ruined a perfectly good system by deciding a cup should be approximately half a pint or 8 fluid ounces, a good deal larger than the average teacup and as you will see in the chart of new-fangled measures below, they decided a teacup is actually half a cup...

I think you should now be equipped to answer your own question...

What equals 48 ounces??

Hi Yesenia

There are a couple of possible answers, depending on whether you're talking about liquid ounces, or weight ounces.

For liquids, there are 8 fluid ounces in a kitchen '1 Cup' measuring cup. That means 48 fluid ounces are the same as 6 cups, 3 pints (2 cups per pint) , or 1-1/2 quarts (two pints per quart).

For weight, there are 16 ounces in a pound. (One fluid ounce of water also weighs one weight ounce, which is the basis of the adage 'A pint's a pound, the world around', since a pint is 16 fluid ounces, and 16 fluid ounces of water, or near-water like some beer, will then weigh a pound' ).. Anyhow, in this case, 16 goes 3 times into 48 ounces, so it will weigh 3 pounds.

For metric, 2.2 pounds per kilogram, or 29.5735 milliliters per fluid ounce.

Cheers!
