Bike wont stay running

I have a 1991 fzr 600 and I accidently killed the battery( new battery) and when i jumped the bike it started well and I ran it for 10 mintues to give it a little juice. I then started to drive it home, but after about 5 minutes the bike just died. no throttle responce, nothing what would cause this. This is the first time I have had any problems with the bike doing this.

If the bikes charging system is not working there will be no power to the coils, and no spark (once the battery is drained). Try putting a good, fully charged battery in the bike and check the charging system.

There are certainly several things that could cause the symptoms you describe. Based on the information you have provided that is what I would check first.

I am having problems getting good spark could a battary cause this problem low voltage even though it turns over (94 yamaha fzr 600)

Yes occasionally a battery can put out enough cold crank amps to spin the starter and motor, but in doing so drags the voltage down so the electronic ignition wont fire.

a couple of warnings
If you check for spark make certain there is a plug in the lead and it is grounded to the engine, if not the voltage builds up in the coils until it can spark to something.
dont jump it of a bigger car battery, when the bike starts it can try to produce more amps than its supposed to to try and charge the car battery and stuff the reg.

My 1996 Yamaha FZR 600 won't start. The lights turn on, but when I hit the start button, all I hear is a fast clicking sound. Maybe from the digital ignition box. I have tried jumping it from a car...

sounds like the battery to me, have it checked by a sparky, they dont give you much warning before they **** themselves, I had to replace mine only a few months ago

I have a 91 fzr 600 recently did oil change, spark plugs, didnt ride bike for 2 days then went to ride it today and wont start, thought it was the battery so i jumped it and it started but started running...

you will need to try a new battery, unfortunatly sometimes jumping of a larger battery can spike the regulator, so when the new battery is fitted put a mulimeter across the battery, should read just over 12v engine stopped and rise to 13.5-14v with the engine running.

NOT CHARGING..

I dont know about using and tester for autos is going to give a correct reading for your problem i suggest you get a volt ohm meter and check the stator and regulator/ rectifier.

Bike has been standing for 18 months without the engine being spun. Bike will not start without choke. when choke is off engine stalls

You need to completely drain and refill the gas - the gas you have is stale and doesn't have enough power to run the bike.
The battery needs to be fully charged - not just jump started. It wouldn't hurt to do an oil and filter change as well as a air filter and plug change.

Bike wont start

You have to check the starter motor, prolly the brushes are gone . Also check the connections from battery to the solenoid and from the solenoid to the starter.

Good Luck.

91 yamaha fzr engine turns but wont start

the floats in the carb are stuck. you can try lightly tapping on the carb with a screwdriver that should do the trick.
