Motorcycle won't turn over just get a clicking noise from a relay under the seat.

We replaced the engine and got it all back together. We topped off all the fluids and installed new spark plugs andwe went to start it and nothing. We checked the battery with a multimeter and it said 4volts, so we charged up the battery. Now all we get is a clicking noise from a relay under the seat that connects from the battery to the starter. Could the starter be bad?

Check the connections they may be loose. If the connections are loose just tighten them and it should work. If not replace the battery. Most of the time if a battery sulfates it will still show a full charge but will not have the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) to start the bike. Take the battery and have it tested. CycleGear can test the battery I think. If not most autozones can check the battery. I am 99% sure it will need to be replaced. If the relay or solenoid were bad there would be no clicking at all.

SOURCE: dead battery or bad solenoid?

You could be hearing the solenoid or the relay,but it sounds like you have a loose connection if it is clicking fast.

Sometimes after trying to start a bike with a weak battery the starter solenoid gets damaged,or loose connections develop on the solenoid due to heat.It should be next to the battery.

sometimes fuses that good shud be tested-chec wiring thru bike for cutz n corrosion-a bad relay can giv these symtoms--secure a repair manual for detailed procedures or ask dealer tech

Check the clutch, neutral and side stand safety interlocks.
Double check that the bike is in neutral, and the clutch is pulled in when trying to start the bike.
If the bike is in gear with the side stand down, the bike cuts off all ignition.
If the clutch isn't pulled in, the starter won't engage.
Check all these safety interlock switches, and make sure you are in neutral with the clutch in when trying to start the bike.

The starter could be drawing too many amps, if thats the case it will need to be replaced. Also the solenoid. When you say there is "no spark" you mean the spark plugs are not firing? When the bike cranks it will not start?

Clicking noise coming from the fuse box "under the dash" when I turn on the heat, now car won't start.

that item is called a relay switch. it toggles on and off depending on which electrical component it is connecting. if it's blown, they are cheap and easy to replace like a fuse, but you'll need to look at the fuse box chart (usually on the underside of the lid) to determine which one and where it's located. You can't look inside the relay to determine if blown, but you can replace them one at a time to test...
Also, if you're experienced in electrical, a paper clip can be used when the relay is out, to connect the circuit that you need. use tools and or gloves when attempting this method.

I have a 2000 cadillac deville it has a brand new battery. It starts when it wants to will run for 5 days then won't start again there is a clicking noise comming from the fuse box under back seat. And...

Look at all the body and engine grounds, there are some you may not be aware of so it would be advisable to look them up.

Bike won't start, new Harley battery, and starter bike 2006 FLHX Street Glide, all I get is a clicking noise from solenoid under seat

I'm not too familiar with the later model bikes but if I were getting a clicking noise under the seat and the bike was not starting, I'd investigate the source of the noise. It's possible that it is a starter relay that engages the solenoid that is an integral part of the starter. Look at the starter from the right hand side of your bike. You'll see a single small wire that connects to the end of the starter just above the end plate of the solenoid. Disconnect this wire and connect a test light or volt meter to the wire. Turn on your ignition switch and press the start button. You should hear the click under the seat and see voltage at the end of that wire. If not, replace the relay, a plastic cube about an inch in dimension.

Turn signals will not work on 1991 electra glide when you apply the front brake there is a clicking noise from a module under the seat

The clicking you hear may be an add-on module that makes both rear turn signals into brake lights. Remove the seat, locate the clicking module and remove it, it should be about 2.5" long and about 2" wide and 1/2" thick, then put the plugs back together w/o the module and try the blinkers. One on of the module is female the other male to help locate it, but it's one of the few connectors that are quite big under the seat. Harley sells these or they did, as well as a couple aftermarket makers. I have one on my FLHT.

Its probably your starter relay or possible your fuel pump starving for fuel... the starter relay is under your seat behind the battery and the fuel pump is under your tank...

Bike has sat a few months. Engine turned over,but cranked slow. Tried jump starting,would not turn over. Replaced battery and charged. Engine will not turn over...emits a "click" noise from fuse panel...

The clicking sound is the starter relay - which could be the reason the electric starter isn't working. To test, locate the relay and use a large screwdriver to bridge the two large cables attached to the top of it. If the starter spins the engine over when you do this, it most likely means that the starter relay needs to be replaced.
If the starter doesn't spin, then you've likely got a bad starter motor, or a bad connection going between the relay and the starter.

Everytime i attempted to start it there is a clicking noise coming from the connector under the seat. it has two fuses on the left and right of this connector. Will i have to replace the whole wiring??

if he engine is not turning over but there is a clicking, that is a flat battery, the noise is the solenoid going mad, stop doing it and charge up the battery or you'll burn it out. if the battery is good (do the lights dim when you put the brake on? quick test) then you may have bigger problems, maybe tthe starter motor. the clicking could also be a relay, a small plastic box.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

The click is significant. It indicates that the starting relay is engaging but for some reason, the starter motor is not cranking. This could either be a faulty starter relay (particularly the contacts) or a faulty starter motor (specifically, the carbon brushes). To determine which:

with the side covers off, expose the starter relay particularly the 2 large terminals;
have somebody start the bike normally using the key and button start switch;
determine if indeed the clicking is coming from the starter relay;
while the start button is still pressed, jump the 2 big terminals;
if the engine cranks, then the internal contacts of the starter relay are corroded or burned;
if the engine will not crank, then the starter motor is faulty or it can not turn the engine..

A few additional ideas:

externally charge the battery;
drain the tank and carbs of stale fuel;
refill with fresh fuel;
remove the plugs, center stand the bike, engage 1st gear, rotate rear wheel to exercise engine.
