Check your radiator cap for rust. Replace that.

What causes high cooling water pressure in a Ford escape v6 engine,to irelease via the water reservoir cap valve

no year car told, age matters on all machines. all.
all cars run about 15psi , pure physics of hot water expansion and cap pressure regulated.
my guess is you mean the overflow tank on side of RAD,that has exploding steam and water to this side tank? "violently" that be gross overheating
lots of causes and lots of tests. to find it.
  • bad thermostat ,10 years is like max. life.
  • dead water pump.
  • bad radiator
  • bad RAD fan. dead. or dual fan 2nd is dead.
  • low coolant, sure, after now but is no cure filled and tried. full up in rad dead cold 50%AF MIX.
  • FANS BELT MISSING OR LOOSE. (TO PUMP)
  • BLOWN HEAD GASKET OR WARPED HEAD(S) CAUSED.
  • SIDE TANK HOSES BAD MORE MISSING SUCH THE EVERY COOL DOWN AF DOES NOT GET SUCKED BACK INTO RAD. MAKING IT DROP LEVELS OVER TIME.
  • ALL WATER HOSES CAN LEAk or heater core. causing water loss and bingo overheats.

My 2005 jeep liberty over heats, any solutions

check to see if you have a viscous fan hub and if so then replace it . Check when the overheating occurs If it is at stop lights but cools down when travelling. It is the hub. If it overheats when going slow and under load it will be the hub. If it overheats when travelling fast then check the radiator for core blockage and have a compression test done to check for head gasket / cracks Run fault codes and check for blocked exhaust system --cat converter)

Blown head gasket?runs real bad, water out the exaust.

Well, it your running water out the exhaust, you can bet your heads are cracked. Its not just the head gasket. Check the salvage yards for a replacement head. It will save you alot.

Hi i have a 94 misubishi exspress van 2.0litre motor i brought it with a blown head gasket i had a mechanis pull head off had it tested and ithe head was no good now replaced with brand new head mechanic...

Yes, it sounds like the water pump or radiator is bad. And the car overheated in the first place, which warped the head on it. It is an aluminum head and if it gets too hot for very long then it will give somewhere. And that is what you bought. Or when the head warped, the engine did to. Or it cracked, and the antifreeze leaked into the cylinder and you leaked antifreeze there and overheated now. But it should have had steam coming out of exaust. Or running bad, missing? Did yoy have the water pump replaced?

Or he could have put the gasket on backwards and it blocked off one or two holes that the antifreeze travels through to cool that head and the intake.

I hope this helps.

Coolant coming out of the overflow spout after shutting down.

about 100K miles? sounds like a blown head gasket is allowing coolant to be pushed out the exaust, and combustion pressure is pushing fluid out the overflow.have your compression tested.

1997 Cadillac Deville Overheating

Yes it can be the head gasket, one way to tell,is make sure the engine is cold, like in the morning.Take the rad.cap off,add water until full.Turn over the engine and let run, while looking at the opening(where the cap goes). Is the water coming out like really fast, maybe as much as a fountain? If so,then it is a head,or head gasket. If you would like to bleed system of air I can tell you how.If there is air in the cooling system,it will run hot. With it cold,or cool, not hot or real warm, fill the reservoir with water up to 3/4 full, over the fill mark.Fill the radiator full, and replace radiator cap,and reservoir cap.Make sure the hose from the reservoir to the radiator is in good shape,no holes or crimped anywhere.start the engine with the ac off.At this point the cooling fans should not be on.There not supposed to be on unless you straight wired them. Before the fans come on by themselves,or the vehicle runs hot,and right before not to soon, cut the car off.Go in the house and get on computer for about 30 to 40 minutes, and go back out side and check the water level in the reservoir. Is it down?if so add more water and repeat process until engine runs at normal temp. The fans should come on,and go off on there own, with the ac off.Let me know the out come.
