I have x2Gen 19" LCD Monitor. I hooked up the

More likely to be the fuse for the backlight inverter circuits rated at 3.5 or 4Amps. It is PICO fuse.
The transistors that drive the inverter transformers may have been damaged, should check them out before installin a new fuse. In the mean time you can use 1 to 2 Ohms 1/2 Metal Oxide (MOX) resistor in place of the fuse, if the resistor overheatand open up then you have shorts circuits.

I need to replace one of the fuses on the inverte board. What size do i purchase.

I use 2.5A PICO fuse, but before wasting new fuse due to short circuits you should solder in a 1/2w MOX resistor in place of the fuse and measure the voltage drop across the resistor so you can calculate the current draw by the circuits, if the resistor burns up right away, then you have shorted out output transistors in the transformer driving section. Also check the two large electrolytic caps also, if they are bad, it will cause the fuse to blow also due to high frequency oscillation.

What is the rating of the SMT fuse on the inverter board of a Dell 2000FP LCD monitor? The fuse is labeled F1 on the circuit board and is marked FT on the fuse itself. Thanks!

You can try this, solder in a 1/2watt 1 Ohm flame proof resistor (MOX, Metal Oxide) in place of the fuse (a lot of company use this instead of the fuse) just to see if it evevn come on or the resistor will get real hot if it has shorted out MOSFET. You should Ohm out the MOSFET and also check the value and the ESR of the two electrolytic caps, if they are bad it can cause the power supply to go into oscillation and draw too much current. i do this all the time so I do not waste my good fuse.
If it stay on then you can measure the DC voltage across the resistor then you can figure out how much the current draw is and then get the fuse with 25% higher than the current draw. I use PICO fuse for replacement.

The replacement board is very expensive.

I have the following message and I understand the problem may be with Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 The appplication has failed to start because connAPI.DLL was not found. Re-install may fix the problem

Hi there.

Do one of the following solutions: Solution 1: Remove the NOKIAManager.mox file.

  1. Exit Photoshop Elements.
  2. Open the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 6.0\moxplugins folder.
  3. Move the NOKIAManager.mox file to the Recycle Bin, or another location such as your desktop.
  4. Restart your computer.
Note: The NOKIAManager.mox plug-in file is required for Adobe Photo Downloader to download photos from a Nokia mobile phone. If you use a Nokia mobile phone, use Solution 2. If you later decide to use a Nokia mobile phone, either move the NOKIAManager.mox file back to the original location or reinstall Photoshop Elements.
Solution 2: Install or reinstall the Nokia PC Suite software.

Note: Only use this solution if you connect a Nokia mobile phone to your computer.

In order to communicate with a Nokia mobile phone, your computer must have the Nokia PC Suite software installed. Install the software to allow Adobe Photo Downloader to communicate with the phone and download photos from it. If you have previously installed Nokia PC Suite but are still getting this error message, uninstall and reinstall the software or upgrade to a newer version. For more information about Nokia PC Suite, contact Nokia or visit the Nokia web site.

Solution 3: Disable Adobe Photo Downloader.

  1. Open the Organizer in Photoshop Elements.
  2. Choose Edit > Preferences > Camera or Card Reader.
  3. Disable the Auto Launch Adobe Photo Downloader On Device Connect option.
  4. Click OK.
Note: This solution will prevent Adobe Photo Downloader from starting when Windows starts, and it will not appear automatically when you plug in a camera, card reader, flash memory drive, or other memory device. When you plug in one of these devices, and in order to download photos into the Organizer, you will need to start Photoshop Elements and choose File > Get Photos or Videos > From Camera or Card Reader.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!
