How did you disconnect the battery, pos first then neg ? or neg first then pos ? try starting it and after started, hold your rpm at 1500, for about two minutes, then if still running, drive it to get to.speeds of 40 for about 15 minutes, this is to relearn if not, disconnect your battery, take the pos and neg cable and touch them together and hold for about a minute, then Connect them back, neg.first.then pos, then follow steps above to.relearn.

SOURCE: crankshaft sensor for a buick rivi

a couple of things, try unplging it and pluging it back in, I can't give you model specific info but I can tell you exactly where to get it. The sensor will be located, most probably behind your harmonic balancer or on your fly wheel at the rear of the engine, If your really interested in how to do a professional repair, you should get a subscrition to alldatadiy.com, it is worth the twenty bucks if you want to maintain your auto like the factory suggest, includes trouble shooting charts, just like we all use in the auto repair industry. Hope this helps you!

SOURCE: 1998 Buick Riviera battery

Make sure that you have the ventilation tubing when replacing the battery. The car is designed to vent battery gases from beneath the car. Substituting a different type battery (without vent ports, a small hole that is located at each end of the battery ) or if you decide to use the battery without the ventilation tubing, you run the risk of an explosion. This is due to the proximity of the battery to the fuel pump, which is also located beneath the seat.Underhood batteries vent naturally into the air within the engine compartment. In your car there is a small hole in front of your battery that leads to the underside of your car.Your tubing is designed to carry the battery's vapors way and direct it out of your car through this hole.

1992 Roadmaster Estate 5.7 liter dies for no reason.

You need to have someone with a scantool check the sensors. I've had coolant temp sensors read -43F which tells the computer to dump more gas essentially flooding the engine.

1986 Riviera random Stalling at idle

Chances are your distributor cap, it may have carbon buildup ad is acting like a jumper wire to other spark plugs or it may have a very fine crack in it with carbon buildup shorting two plugs together. It's best to have it replaced, they don't cost that much and it's easy.
