Your bike should have a cable driven speedometer. Look at the left side of front wheel...wheel axle is, you will see the speedometer cable attached. make sure that end is securely tightened, if it has come off, the internal cable may have slipped out. If its okay....now go under the speedometer housing and check the nut on the cable at that end...make sure its secure. Chances are it loosened off so cable was no longer engages into speedometer.
Other possibility...cable inside the outer sheath broke. A new cable is around $20 Cdn.
i have an xt125r and i had the same problem. try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes then when u reconnect it the screen will flash endr/mtrd and select your model(mtrd for xt125x) by turning the ignition key and pressing the blue button(the one u set your lcd with) when it's on mtrd. the battery is under the seat:p. hope it solves your problem, and make sure it's an x(much smaller front wheel)
