Adjustment of valve reasonably simple, remove tappet covers, remove small bung from mag cover top and rotate engine until you are able to see a capital T on the flywheel, providing whist you rotated engine it was on the correct stroke the inlet valve should have just closed when you saw the T. this is the correct stroke. loosen tappets lock nuts, adjust the tappets so you can just move it with your fingers, if your want to get technical the clearances between tappet and valve should be about .05mm

Yamaha yfm 350 warrior wont keep idle

Replace the idle jet (don't clean) with a new one from a Yamaha OEM only $5.00 & make sure the idle mixture adjustment on the bottom of the carb. is set 3 1/2 turns out from seated in (a brass screw ---Don't over tighten & break off the needle tip). Also , be sure the choke is all the way off or it won't idle either.

Is ther a kill switch on a 350 warrior 1988?? wont start got sparg pulled plug sprayed starting fluid in cylinder replaced plg still wont start was riding other day and it jus shut off hasnt...

check the compression i work at btn powersports if you dont have enough compression it will not start if that dont work check the timing and if that dosent work, the valves might need to be adjusted or replaced. steve.

How do I adjust the valves on my 2003 Yamaha Warrior YFM 350X?

first you need to remove everything that covers your valve covers(gas tank etc.) remove the intake valve cover, and the rotor nut and timing plug.set the engine a t.d.c.(top dead center)fit a socket onto the rotor nut and turn it counterclockwise until the"I" mark appears align it with the index mark in the timing hole.use a flat feeler gauge between the top of the valve and the adjuster.loosen the locknut and turn the adjuster just until you feel resistance on the feeler guage.hold the adjuster and tighten the lock nut down.i can not tell you the min.clearance spec to your quad since i have a 660 raptor.try using the smallest clearance number.

Yamaha warrior atv [yfm 350] bogging problem

Try checking the switch for your parking brake. It is the top wire in the clutch handle boot. This wire connects to your CDI box, and restricts the RPM's while the parking brake is engauged. To find out for sure, trace the wire down to the plug under the headlight assembly and disconnect it. Now try starting you machine and give it some throttle!
