From what you are describing, it is possible either the 3-4 actuator is no longer playing with the 3rd & 4th clutch packs, only way to know for certain is to hook up the good ol' pressure gauge to trans. system, yeah, you think the Chevrolet dealer should know this right?
a Scan Tool will read your codes. even if the light is off it puts codes in history so they still can be pulled up for diagnostics. I would start there, You can get it done for free at AutoZone,CarQuest etc.
Hello you have a heavily rusted fuel tank, i would suspect the fuel petcock is being restricted. As for the fuel tank here is a link to a product to remove the rust from your tank. I have used it and it gets rid of it excelent product. http://www.kreemproducts.net/p-16-kreem-tank-prep.aspx
The gearbox does not need to be relpaced. The bike has a bent shift fork. The engine comes out then gets a complete tear down to get to the bad fork. This will probably cost $1200 or so. Call a dealer and get an estimate. Please rate my answer. Thanks.
