SOURCE: cant find fuses to switch starter

Hi,
The fuse box is located behind the left side cover. Look for a black rectangular plastic box just under the flasher relay. That box opens up to reveal the fuses.

SOURCE: Does not have fire on the 2 & 3 cylinders.

Cilinders 1 and 4 are on the same coil, so as the 2 and 3 on the other coil.
Remove all spark plugs from engine and plug them in the spark plug leads and against the engine
To check coils easily: switch the low voltage wires from coil 2-3 to coil 1-4.
No spark at 1 and 4 is a sign that the coil is broken.
No sparks at 2-3 is a sign that the ignotion switchbox is broken, or the pick-up coils for 1-4.
Here also, switch the wires of the pick up coils. If allways the same plugs sparks, the switchbox is broken. If the other plugs sparks, then the pick-up coil is broken...

Hope it helps

Kawasaki KZ 1000 Police bike the headlight is not working

Hi, Phantom1952 if your headlight is not working, intermittent, only one beam works, keeps burning out, blinking, dim or surges from bright to dim to bright the first thing you need to check is the headlight bulb for damaged filaments then check your light circuit fuse, then check your headlight bulb socket ground wire for a clean tight connection, that being said the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty ground or power supply wire to headlight bulb socket.
2. Worn down solder contacts or loose fit of the bulb base in the socket due to vibration.
3. Worn, chafed, or broken wires in the light circuit.
4. Corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets in wire connectors.
5. Faulty hi/low beam switch.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Fuse is good but no continuity on both sides.
8. Faulty headlight relay.
9. Faulty wiring between battery positive and headlight bulb socket.
10. Weak charging alternator/generator/lighting coil
11. Faulty voltage regulator/rectifier ground or overcharging.

I have a 1980 kz1300 that starts up but mis fires any ideas?

Basic tune up. May need the carbs cleaned, new plugs/wires, and ignition system gone over, including points cleaning/replacement (if equipped) and checking for proper operation of alternator charge coil and rectifier/regulator.

Ensure battery is properly charged.
