Confused about wiring a tach on my '05 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500

Just purchased the after market tach from Custom World and am a little confused on the wiring. The harness they send is only long eneogh to reach the ignition switch, but the diagram shows conection to the (-) side of coil nad (+) 12v DC. I am installing this on my 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic. thanks

Go to gadgets fix it page, they have diagrams and step by step instructions to do this, i use his site religiously you can find anything there about your vulcan
