Hi guys, I have a 1990 ZZR 1100. One day I left

Hi guys, I have a 1990 ZZR 1100. One day I left the bike in the garage ,and it was working perfectly...After 2 days I have tried to start it ,and it just wouldn't start! I have tried pretty much what I could imagine ,checked the battery ,the fuses etc. The rpoblem is that sparkplugs don't show any signs of life... It is my first bike so I'm not really in to that techstuff :-( Could anybody help me? Any suggestions(maybe)

SOURCE: zzr gear box

I have been a bike mechanic for over 10 years and never seen this one before. The only thing I can even think of is a broken shift fork. This would let a slider gear wander freely and potentially engage a gear while the bike is already in a different gear. This would account for the rear wheel lock up. The 'tight spot' would probably be a torqued and twisted shaft resulting from the lock up.

The repair will be major surgery on the tranny. Personally, I would replace all shafts, all gears and all shift forks. You don't know and can't just look and see what stress has been put on any individual gear. I would hate to see you put in a few gears, put the engine back in the bike, then find a stressed gear dropping a couple of teeth the first time you hit second. To put it another way, get a new tranny and a new chain. The chain was stressed also. Sorry about the bad news.

Ask the dealer what the cost would be to replace the entire tranny but not the clutch. Now Google ' salvage motorcycles kawasaki ' and see what an entire used engine would cost. Chances are the engine swap that you can do yourself will cost less than the dealer's repair of the current tranny.

SOURCE: Kawasaki 1100 ZZR will not switch on.

Check the fuse box for blown up fuses.
Measure the electrical current thoroughly from battery to cockpit and find out where it cuts off.Plug by plug.

SOURCE: hi guys i just bought a a 91 zx750 and the bike is dead

start with the battery and check the fuses around .
did you check as well that your cut off switch is not damaged and may earth itself .
power issue s like this one you will have to work from the battery and work your way away from it .
check all wiring for bare wires that may contact the frame .
What you may have to do also is really look at where the bike has got damage and look around for cut wires or damage items .

Hi i got a zzr 600 im not geting fuel to carb 2 or 3 and no fuel in float chambers but runs on 1 and 4 for a bit thans terry

Sounds to me that the float may be stuck in the raised position for that carb. This will keep the needle vavle closed preventing fuel entering the float chamber. has the bike been left in the garage for a while on its side stand if so that might also indicate that the float pivot pin is worn and as the fuel evaporates the float has jammed against the side of the float chamber. Carb cleaner slight tapping of the side of the carb float chamber and possible a squirt of compressed air. All worth a try before a massive strip down. Jim ex heli-mech.

1995 Kawasaki ZZR 1100 clutch fluid leaking

Follow the hydraulic clutch line to the slave cylinder on the left side of the motor. You should be able to see if it's leaking from there. If it is,remove the three bolts that hold the slave cylinder on. It should be dry behind there. If it's not,
find a slave cylinder rebuild kit from K&L.

Bike wont start just a clicking

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, charge and load test the battery.

Offhand with a fully charged battery, jump the 2 big terminals of the starter relay. If the starter motor spins, then faulty starter relay.

Good luck and thank you for asking Fixya.

Have a problem with nuteral light on a zzr 1100 it is not elumating and it is not showing any green light

first check the bulb...u can easily do that by putting it in another pig tail that you know works..if ok, check connection on shift sensor on engine, usuall located somewheres near the shift drum & will be on the outside of the engine.the shift sensor is just a short to ground system..disconnect the wire & with a continuity meter shift bike to determine if the fault is with the sender or the wire that feeds power to the indicator light in your dash..

Remove front wheel 1990 zzr1100

Hi ...... You need to support the bike level (front paddock stand) and undo one side pinch bolt then using the hex adapter for that side unscrew anticlockwise ..................... I cant remember whether it's a 15mm or 17mm. The front spindle is threaded both sides. Support wheel & pull spindle out. Assembly is reverse but you have to make sure speedo drive is engaged correctly prior to tightening up.
