SOURCE: i have a1987 kawasaki kx 250. it is very hard to kick

Once u have the piston out then there is a tool you can use for extracting the rings or you can simply use strips of tin and slide it behind the rings from were the two ends of the ring meet and slide them round the piston. Be very careful when putting the new rings on because ther are quite brittle

Yes I do believe they do. Try going to Powersportseast.com Look in the shopping section on the left of the homepage. You will want to use the parts fische and load the info for your bike. It allows you to see what the dealer parts counter can see. See if this helps. I'm pretty sure the 250 ninja really didn't change until 2008 when it got the BIG overhaul

Engine oil leaking, draw bolt is slightly slipping from the groove.

You have two options:

1. Repair the stripped thread with Helicoil.

2. Re-thread the hole and install a larger drain bolt.

I'd lean slightly towards #2, as Helicoil installation requires more skill and can get botched more easily.

Striped out side panel bolt

"Helicoil" and "keensert" are thread inserts that can repair that stripped hole as long as there is room around the hole for the thread repair insert. "helicoil" takes the less amound of room. Most auto part stores have thread repair kits, all you need to know is the original thread size or bolt.

2009 Yamaha Raider engine oil drain plugs stripped

Hi, Poe66, I feel your pain, if the drain plug bolts are stripped then just buy new ones. If the threads in the engine case, where the bolts go, are stripped then you need Helicoils installed by a professional technician. If the drain plugs face straight down and you brought your bike to my shop I would charge you $75 for 2 Helicoil steel thread inserts installed. I believe someone makes an oversize tapered self-tapping drain bolt that may be a cheaper way to go if you are a little low on "DRACHMA"

If the plugs are indeed seized, attempting to remove them can strip out the threads in the head(s). Obviously if you need to replace the plugs they will need to come out. If the threads strip out, you will need to remove the affected head and have helicoil or keensert inserts put in to repair the threads. As a side note, always use antiseize compound on the spark plug threads when replacing the plugs on vehicles equipped with aluminum heads.
