SOURCE: Change oil in 2004 Yamaha V Star 1100 Classic, procedure?

i think the oil filter is at the front behind a round finned cover, if you find the drain plug it should be right above it, it shoud tell you how much oil it takes right next to the filler

SOURCE: how to lower the idle on a 2002 yamaha 650 v-star classic?

under the left side of the gas tank you will see i black knob/screw at the end of what looks like a hose. the knob faces the rear of bike. that adjusts the idle. its real easy to find and the only adjustment you can make to the carbs.

SOURCE: where is the oil filter on my yamaha V-star 1100

On the right side of the bike (right side when ou are sitting on it) just above the rear brake lever behind a small circular plate. remove the plate and the oil filter is inside (you will easily see it). Warning---on these bikes you have to drop the front exhaust header and right floor board in order to change the oil filter unless you install a after market oil filter relocation kit. If you plan on changing your own oil it is highly recommended to install this relocation kit.

Lift the back of the tank up and prop it up. Remove the chrome beauty covers, find spark plug wires and remove. Blow out with air first. Chaz Moto DC

I HAVE 2002 YAMAHA V-STAR 1100 CLASSIC THAT RUNS GOOD, BUT THE IDLE SEEMS TO TAKE A WHILE TO IDLE DOWN. i HAVE NO VACUUM LEAKS . ANY IDEAS?

take a can of carb cleaner an spray all around the carbs an intakes while it is running if it revs up or chokes down you have a intake leak try to tighten them up and see if that corrects it it could also be dirty air breater it would cause it to idle poorly until it warms up

XVS 1100 idle

at sea level there is 14.7 psi of air pressure, the higher you go the thinner the air. thus, need more air and less fuel. adjuster your idle air screw mixture.

Sounds like it may be drawing air around the intake somewhere. Let it idle and spray around carefully with wd-40 until it speeds up. This will reveal the leak.

2004 V-star 1100-Over-revving all by itself

could be a lot of things. sounds minly like you need a valve adjustment. could also be a carb issue or an air leak around the carbs ( carb boots not on all the way or cracked).
