SOURCE: Feet do not touch flat

The ride height is determined by a couple of things, the suspension and the seat. If you can, try to find a different seat because lowering the bike effects the handling characteristics so much. Anytime you lower a bike, you reduce the "lean angle" which hampers you when you make turns. If you can't find a lower saddle, you can lower the bike. It depends on what year and model bike it you have. You didn't say. There are companies that make lowering kits for most bikes. Progressive is one of the more popular companies.

Proper bike seat height for individuals

Loosen the seat post clamp and sit on the bike. This should be adjusted wiyh your feet flat on the ground and the seat firmly touching your bottom. Tighten the post clamp bolt and enjoy the ride.

Procedure to check oil level for RT1200 (police bike). Do I need to check the oil level when the bike is cold or after warm up??

Check oil when bike is cold...... here is the best procedure.

Ride bike (and enjoy)
Park bike on side stand, let sit for at least 10 minutes or overnight. (lets oil drain out of cooler into sump)
Put bike on center stand. Bike should be on level ground
Check oil level in window on lower LHS of engine.
Level should be anywhere inside of red circle in sight glass.
DO NOT OVERFILL let level get down to lower edge of red circle before adding oil

Good Luck!

Fuel starvation

i have a 1985 k100rt and it would not start. i made some calls to bobs bmw in maryland and i unplugged electrical connector on gas tank ,sprayed it with electrical contact cleaner and coated it with dielectric gel. that fixed it. also check main grounding point on frame under gas tank.on a bike this old you need to make sure electrical connections are clean. the fuel pump is supposed to deliver fuel at 36 psi according to clymers repair manual. i hope this helped .
