Where is it leaking from? If its leaking, that's more than likely why it doesn't run right, the fuel/air mixture is off. Also, I wouldn't continue to run it until the leak is fixed as it may damage the motor from not lubricating properly.

SOURCE: 2 stroke oil pre mix has been put in gear box oil

If the engine hasn't or doesn't show any effect of the oil by now, Changing the oil to specs should get you through without a problem.

SOURCE: i need to know what

Up front on the fork, "Compression" (factory set to 18). Leave it there for beginner. Turn it down as you get better (17 for novice, 15 for intermediate and 13 for pro). "Fork Rebound" (factory set to 21). Turn it up a click for more advanced riding. Otherwise, leave it alone. REAR SHOCK "Low-Speed Compression" (factory set to 15) Turn it down for advance riding ( 11-14) otherwise leave it stock. "Rebound" (factory setting is 24). Turn it up for advanced riding (25 or 26) "High-Speed Compression" (factory is 1.25) Turn it up for advanced riding (up to 1.5) "Sag" (Factory set to 110 - 113 mm) Turn it up for advance riding (113 to 120 mm). good luck

SOURCE: i have a 99 ktm 250 sx. Had to get cylinder replated and a new piston. I put the bike back together and oil was leaking from the front lower end of the cylinder and i wont idle. Took the bike back ap

If there is a leak in the head gasket it will never run properly. Maybe the carburetor is plugged if it has sat for a while. The gas/oil mixture can go bad over time. The leak could be from a loose gas line. Or possibly even oil dripping from the oil filter if you just cleaned and re-oiled it.

Hi ave got a ktm 125sx 02 its just had a bottom and top end rebuild bike starts and runs great but there is still a rattle from the engine could anybody help thanks

Lots of engines make characteristic noises and air-cooled 2-strokes have lots of characteristic noises even when new and even when there is nothing wrong.

If you have just spent a parcel of money on it your first port of call should be to the person or dealer who carried out the work. Having a top and bottom overhaul means a world of different things to different people. If you don't know what has been done and what needed to be done you will be somewhat in the dark and at a disadvantage with perhaps unrealistic expectations.

Perhaps the engine hasn't had as much of an overhaul as you thought. A full bottom end overhaul is a good deal of cash and lots of work that would make it as good as a new engine again. Maybe the dealer decided for reasons of economy to refit some of the old parts instead of replacing everything.
I suggest you read your invoice and then go and ask some leading questions.

2003 KTM 250 SX won't start. When you kick it, it starts to fire but never turns over. I accidently put the wrong gas in it. It takes 60:1 but I didn't put enough oil in it. It died while I was riding it....

hi
If you have run the engine with too little oil then there is probably damage to the piston / rings & / or bore
Remove the exhaust to have a look

My 2006 ktm 250 sx-f smokes blue when i pull away

Is this a 4 or 2-stroke?
4-stroke = bad valve seals of piston rings
2-stroke = oil/gas ratio too 'oily' OR air filter clogged.

I want to get back into motocross and have been told that the 2006 KTM sx 250 is the bike to buy. Is this true

My honest opinion? (40 years of riding, three years of motocross, and 15 years of hare scrambles)
All bikes are good, KTM...Honda...Kawasaki...Yamaha...Suzuki
It really up to maintenance, rider ability, and of course a newer the bike doesn't hurt either.
Go with what you can get parts for, and you'll be able to work with.
