General spec is 8 ft lbs. 16 ft lbs then 90 deg turn. the pattern is the key. follow the pattern in the manual

SOURCE: Need the torque specs on clutch for a 85 FLHTC
The torque specs are the same as with any Evolution engine. The compensator sprocket 150-165 foot pounds.
Clutch hub nut (left handed threads) 60-80 foot pounds.
Use Loctite 271 on threads. Two lines in nut on Compensator and one line in clutch hub nut.

I always pull them to 70 foot pounds in a criss cross pattern. Start the engine up and allow it to warm up. When cool, retorque the heads in the same manner. I only use Fire Ring head gaskets.

Method
For each cylinder head, start with head bolt numbered one.
In increasing number sequence (1-2-3-4), tighten the head bolt in three
stages.
1. Tighten each bolt to 7-9 foot pounds of
torque.
2, Tighten each bolt to 12-14 foot pounds of
torque.
3. Mark each head bolt and head with aligning marks. Tighten
each bolt 1/4 turn (90 degrees).

1. Tighten each bolt to 7-9 foot pounds of
torque.
2. Tighten each bolt to 12-15 foot pounds of

3, Tighten each bolt to 22-25 foot pounds of
torque.
4, Tighten each bolt to 38-42 foot pounds of torque
