No power. Sounds like 650 Honda! The rear cylinder does not even get a warning after its running for a min. or so. Like it's not even firing. Only about 3 hrs on the 2nd set of new plugs. Haven't changed the wires yet. Removed the rear plug and checked and it has a spark but not sure if its too weak or not, but there was a spark. Harley shop mechanic said it's probably a bad intake gasket. I sprayed either around intake gasket at jug to check for a leak and no change at all in RPM. so I assume no leak, not sure. Not sure if the coil can be tested to see if it's going bad. I would like to eliminate all options of parts that I can repair or replace before handing it over to a mechanic and paying double for a minor fix. Any suggestions of where to go next would be greatly appreciated. Thank you @
Hi, Chuck, you need "FIVE" things in order for a cylinder to run properly:
1. FUEL: in order to validate your not getting fuel spray some starting fluid into the air cleaner and hit the starter button, if it fires up and runs for a few seconds then you know you have a fuel delivery issue. Multi carb banks should be bench "SYNC"
2. SPARK: remove the spark plug and with it connected to the spark plug cable ground the threads to something metal you should see a bluish-white spark if not you have a faulty spark plug, spark plug cable, ignition coil, condenser, CKP, ECM, sensor or the wiring in between.
3. COMPRESSION: you must have at least 80-100 PSI for most bikes, multi-cylinder engines should be within 10-15% of each other if not perform a leak down test you may have a burnt or bent valve or hole in the piston or broken rings.
4. CAM TIMING: confirm your timing marks are aligned to see if the cam chain or adjuster are worn out and the chain has skipped a couple of teeth.
5. IGNITION TIMING: on older bikes check to see if your points have not closed up, timing plate has not become loose and confirm with a timing light for proper retard and advance functions, on newer bikes where timing is controlled by an ECM and is nonadjustable check you CKP, TPS, MAP, O2, sensor or its counterpart for integrity.

SOURCE: Rear cylinder not firing
95 Evo, new plugs, new wires, started backfireing like a machine gun, front cyl. no spark at plug sometimes - would this be the coil, have not ohmed the coil yet . Thanks
SOURCE: oil drain plug 2004 harley dyna wide glide
your oil drain is on the right side pipe side of your bike look under near the rear back part of your frame you will see a plug with a one quarter allen key threaded plug style bolt kinda hidden in bridge plate of frame it is flat in conjuction with line on bike it is in area right behind where your back pipe expands to baffle of pipe where its skinny and then gets bigger its the one closest to you

The guy with the same problem..Your leaving your enrichner (choke) out thats where the 2000rpm and soot comes from...Original fellow I think you may have an intake leak around your manifold or carb.
SOURCE: 2006 HARLEY DAVIDSON DYNA WIDE GLIDE HAS A MISS IN
This is a possability but it does not happen as often as most would like to say. A quick check would be to run the engine to operating temp the take WD40 lube spray and spray it directly at the seals on the heads. If it is an intake leak your motor will change its idle. It will either speed up or miss. This is an indication of an intake leak.
