Michael Green, traced battery cable back to blown master power 30 amp fuse. Should be good tomorrow when I replace it, bike only has 3300 miles on it.Michael Green, traced battery cable back to blown master power 30 amp fuse. Ignition switch supply's B+ voltage to ignition coil fuse in the engine compartment fuse box , 10 amp fuse . If no B+ voltage there check ignition switch .
what kind of car? do you have a power distribution box check the connection going into the box it's + and if there is none coming in the box no power check a circuit with a meter in the box for voltage and check the fuses related to the ignition
it only takes 2 thing to fix this, a voltmeter and a schematic
does car run.?
headlights work, MUST BE, you said INISide ONLY (IMPLIED)
FOR SURE ITS fuse blow. my wild guess is you dont know how
many fuse boxes the car has nor their location
the operators guide covers this. lost that?
so does the TOY FSM book, factory service manual.
the main fuse box has split loads. and power feed that can be 3 paths , hot all time (head lights) ignition 1 and ignition 2 feeds.
the inside of the car has many lights, even warning lights
dome,, dash dimmer lights gauges and their lamps.
and more. so if all are dead, that means.......
no power to the ignition switch or
no power out of the switch,
if no power in , to swtich that usually means fuse blown under hood
all power comes from there, and the PDC box there.
check all fuses with a voltmeter.
and bingo. oops this fuse has 12v in but 0volts out.
HI,
First get the wirediagram!! With out it all you do is just depending good luck.
Second, start follow the main line from battery to ignition key. You may have problems in your ignition (most likely). All power is switch off and on by ignition system, so check if you got any currency in you ignition.
Some of the fuses are NOT SUPPOSED to recieve power from the box itself. Some of them recieve power from the ignition switch and some recieve power from relays in the box that are only activated when the ignition switch is on and/or one of the modules in the computer network commands the relays on. You need a "power distribution" wiring diagram to figure those things out.
With that said, WHAT, exactly are you trying to fix?
check ignition fuse to coil and check see if power getting to coil if yes ignition coil or ignition module faulty.if no power getting to coil and ignition module more likely you have blowed ignition fuse or faulty wiring from ignition fuse box terminal to the ignition coil and module.
no sir
not from the switch to the coil.
the coil does not get power from the switch.
the switch turns relays on that powers the coils.
but there is an ignition fuse.
the ignition switch turns on power relays from the battery that powers the ignition system.
the ignition system fuse is in the fuse box.
