as simple as this is going to sound its been my exspirence with the cj's they loose ground back at the light housing. try taking off the light and ill bet there will be some rust there. use a small peice of 180 sand paper to scratch off the dibris and reatach and you sould see the lights return. hope this helps and let me know. thanks and good luck.
Is it the illumination lights? If so, that sounds like a bad headlight switch-when you put the park lights on (first click), it turns on the dash illumination lights. If it is warning lights or other lights on the dash, it could be a bad ignition switch.
It sounds like the dreaded LKM light control module. It fails leaving only 1 light on with all lights off and ignition off.Try www.bba-reman.com they have a list of common faults for BMW.
Good luck.
