2005 Buick Lesabre Custom - Battery is dead and need to charge it. How do I do this?

Connect the charger leads to the battery under the seat. Leave the windows open a crack to vent any hydrogen gas given off. Or if there is a charging connection under the hood, you can do it there. Positive to the red lead and the black Negative lead to any earthed part of the engine or body.

How to Charge a Car Battery Using a Battery Charger

If you find yourself with a dead battery in your car and have access to a battery charger you are only some time away from being on the road again. Whether you are using a small car charger known as a trickle charger or a larger unit on wheels, you can charge your battery effectively. There are safety concerns though. Be sure to check the warnings
1、Locate the battery or remote charging point by consulting the owner’s manual. You can also open the hood to find the battery. The laptop battery may be under a seat, in which case a charging point may be provided under the hood.
2、Remove any plastic covers that may be protecting the positive and negative posts of the battery. Just push the covers to the side as they are usually pliable. Note the location of positive and negative terminals signified by a plus and a minus sign respectively.
3、Locate the laptop car charger so that its cables will reach the battery. Make sure your charger will reach an electrical outlet. Add an extension cord if needed.
4、Place the clamps of the charger on the battery making sure that the red handled clamp goes to the positive battery post and the black handled clamp goes to the negative laptop batteries post. If you are not sure, trace the cable attached to the clamp back to the charger and look for a positive or negative designation. If you are still not sure, stop and seek professional advice.
5、Plug the charger in, making sure that the selection switch is set to off.
6、Select the appropriate voltage and or rate (almost all cars have a 12 volt system). If time permits choose the slower rate and plan on charging the battery for two hours. This selection will turn the charger on. If the charger has a timer, set it.
7、After charging the battery, unplug the charger, disconnect the charger’s cables and start the car.

The truck batteries were low and i hooked a trickle charger to them over night with them in the truck. i then go the next day and put the key in the ignition and it makes a clicking sound under the driver...

Turn on the headlights and see how bright they are.
How old is the battery?
Check the water in the battery,
If the battery is faulty a trickle charger may not supply enough power to charge it at all.
Take the battery to auto zone and have them check the battery.

How do i attach a battery charger to my intruder

Well, you know where the battery is located on your bike (Under your seat in your RH cover)
A trickle charger have a black and red alligator/clamp lead. Battery normally on the top side near their posts have a plus ("+") and minus ("-") indicators. Clip your red cable to your positive and black to negative, leave it overnight ( at least 6-8 hours) unclip and give the bike a go. That sghould do it.
Good enough for a thumbs up

How do I charge the battery on a 2002 HD Fatboy. I know it is under the seat but I'm not sure how to remove the seat.

The seat should have a tab on back with one bolt. Remove bolt pull back to release front of seat from tab. Before you do check for wiring that pulls out from under seat on left? side that is hook-up for Harley brand trickle charger. Some models have that,so?Good luck.

Battery access

Battery is under the seat. There is little room for you to add a charger, as such, shy of getting such a charger recommended by your Honda shop designed for such.

It is probably better if you start your bike once each week and let it run. This will keep fresh gas in the carb and your battery charged up during these difficult months of winter.

How do I get to the battery? can I charge it with jumper cables from a car?

Both previous posts are correct. The battery is located under the rider seat. You need to charge it at a low amperage, 1.5 or 2 amps. It will take a while so be patient. Quick charging is bad on the battery. The best bet is to buy a trickle charger such as a Battery Tender and plug it in often. It will keep your battery at its peak. The more your battery drais or receives quick charges, the faster you will have to buy a new battery.
