Scooter sputtered and quit while riding. Gas dripping from bottom

My scooter just stopped while I was riding it. Couldn't restart. Gas was dripping out of the bottom. A friend helped me get it home and looked at it. He thinks there's a carburetor problem. Where can I get a replacement, repair kit or find an active service establishment. I'm in Cocoa Florida. The manual I have is for a Milano series. The scooter is a 49.5cc. The manual is what came with scooter and I have all of the paperwork from the original purchaser, but nothing in the manuals is of much help.

Thanks for the input. The only header available for the Milano was the 150. It is, in fact, a 4 stroke 49cc and I am having the dickens of a time finding a service manual. Any ideas on that? I would love to tackle this problem myself and feel capable, but am a bit leery doing it without the service manual. Again thanks

The blue header on your posting says a Milano 150cc which is a single cylinder four stroke. You write the bike is 49cc. That small an engine it is probably a two stroke (mix gas with oil)???? Which bike do you have???
Four stroke or two stroke chances are that the carb float has a bit of trash not letting the float needle close fully. Remove the carb and clean it. re-mount it then Remove the water trap bowl from the bottom of the petcock (gas valve). Is there any trash in the bowl?
Dump the bowl and remount. It may be that your bike does not have the water trap bowl I have mentioned.

Google " Milano scooters " and you should find a manual there.

http://www.monsterscooterparts.com/milan... This link says they have parts for your bike. Other sites available also. Including the home page for TNG Milano motors.

Take a deep breath and a screwdriver or two and pull the carb off the bike. It is not hard and you can't mess up so long as you don't kick the loose parts across the floor. Just clean the silly thing and put it back on. Now try it out. Wish I were there to assist. I really love the little engines. Fun to tinker with and not much effort.

Let me know how it turns out.

Can use an electric scooter in the rain
Can I use an electric scooter in the rain? Posted on October 19, 2015 by gridsolarsystemOf course, you can.
How to ride your E-scooter in the rain?
The rainy season is here and it is pouring like cats and dogs. Most of the e-scooter drivers have this one common question in their mind and that is how to ride the e-scooter in the rain? Well, it is a valid question and today we are going to find the best answer to it. One of the main reasons why people feel afraid to drive the electric scooter in the rain is because they think that they might get an electric shock. But in actual e-scooters are perfectly safe even when it is raining.
When should you not ride the E-scooter in the rain?
The foremost important point to keep in mind is to make sure that you should never drive the electrical scooter when the visibility is less. If it is a light rain, then there is no problem but if there is a torrential downpour happening, then you should not venture outside on an e-scooter. Lack of visibility can prove to be quite harmful and hence you should make sure that proper care is being taken during heavy rains.
You should also make it a point that if there is a freezing rain happening then also you should avoid driving the e-scooter. If there are snow and rain happening then, there are chances that the tyres may slip.
Excessive rain may cause the chrome on the electric scooter to turn into rust. Excess of moisture may dampen the chrome plating. Typically, this happens if the chrome plating is of low Hence, you should always make sure that high-quality electric scooter is bought and that you can only get from reputed suppliers.
Never drive through standing water
If you see knee deep water on the road, then you should immediately stop. This stagnant water may get into the scooter and can cause extensive damage to the delicate parts. Moreover, water may lead to soil getting soft and your electric scooter can get stuck in the mud and it becomes difficult for you to get if struck.
You should keep this important thing in your mind and that is to make sure that you drive the scooter at a slow speed. Driving at high speed may cause slippages and may result into
Always wear a safety helmet while riding an electric scooter. Though these scooters can only attain a maximum speed up to 30 mph, but this much speed can prove to be deadly during rainy Hence, controlled and slow speed should always be your first priority.
Finally, never let your kids drive electric scooters on their own during the rainy It is for their safety and you must tell them to avoid driving electric scooters on their own during rains.
The real idea behind driving electric scooter is to enjoy the ride and you can only enjoy your ride by staying safe and by following all the safety precautions. Make sure to follow the points mentioned above so that you can stay safe and also enjoy the rainy season on your e-scooter.

How do I stop my rear brakes from squeezing? I've watched the video and adjusted them to no avail. When I ride and let off the gas it's like something is holding the scooter back.

Most likely there is something sticking. You seem to be wanting to work on it..buy the manual.. You are on a car site. Not mopeds. I can and do fix them. But you wouldn't pay me the diagnoses to fix yours. Most people don't.

Brake system of a scooter

There is a parking brake lever at the back, but if you're talking about stopping the scooter while riding it, there are no separate brakes.
taking your finger off the power lever turns the electric motor into an electric generator which slows and stops the scooter very quickly.

Sounds like the float is stuck, not floating(sunken ship), out of adjustment or the needle in the bowl is one of the above. It's a simple
fix- take the bowl off the bottom of the carb. and inspect. Until then turn off the gas when it's not running. Here's a link for more help

My sons goped starts and runs well with no weight on it. As soon as a person starts to ride it, it won't go and sputters. I took the engine off and looked at the clutch, and everything looks OK. Where else...

Sounds to me like you have a direct drive model with no clutch. With the direct drive model you just warm up the motor with no rider and wheel off the ground then turn it off and push start it "push and Go". The trick to push staring is stomping your weight down near the back tire as you push forward to get the rear tire turning. Once it turns so will the motor and it will start and your off and running. Do the push start without applying throttle and make sure you have the rear wheel adjusted against the drive roller correctly..

Sputters and stops running.

Since it still starts and runs, i would try to save money and buy a bottle of Techroline (Chevron) gas additive and put in1/2 bottle w/full tank of gas. By the 2nd tankful and 2nd half of bottle you should notice a big improvement, but if no change take it to a competent scooter mech....Good Luck to you friend.....tim
