Suck it out with a hose ... remove the tank and dump it ... pump it with a pump ... draw it out with a turkey baster. This isn\'t difficult.

did you drain the fuel line is the fuel pump electric you may be able to disconnect fuel line near engine and pump fresh fuel through the fuel line by powering the fuel pump while putting the old fuel in the lines into a fuel container.

I have a 2006 vento 150 cc scooter 48 miles on it and hasn't been started in 3 years Q - DOES IT A SPARK PLUG TO CHANGE Q- SHOULD I DRAIN THE FUEL OUT AND IS IT USEABLE IN THE MOWER OR WEED EATER

hi.
if it has not been started in 3 years then a new spark plug would probably be a good idea, but not essential if the old one is cleaned.
3 year old fuel should be drained and is pretty much no use for anything. you may be able to start a bonfire with it, but i would not even try to run a machine on it after 3 years.
it would also be a good idea to change the oil and clean the air filter. the battery will almost certainly need changing as well.
there should not be any major problems though.
hope this helps

Hi Roy ,

Your bike has been sitting in storage and the fuel is too old ad is stale by now .
Re open the carby , clean it properly with new fuel , all the jets need to be inspected for dirt or residue left by the old fuel , drain all the fuel out of the tank and replace it by new fuel .
The old fuel leaves a deposit film which needs to be clean so the best way is to pour a little fuel into your tank , shake the tank to clean it and drain it again .
Make sure that all gasket in the carby are clean or new as extra air intake will make the bike run rough .
Try all this and you will see that the bike will run better .

My bike 750 shadow 2001 has been sitting idle for two years. What steps or tips do you recommend in an attempt to get the bike up and running.

Hi,

These are the procedures.......

First remove and replace the spark plugs.

Check the piston by using the kick start if it still loose.

Change the engine oil and oil filter

Drain the old fuel and put a new fuel and filter.

Replace/pull out the air filter, just to start the engine remove the air filter.

Clean the electrical connections and replace the battery.

Check the brakes and clean the brake shoe/pads and linkages.

Your ready to start that engine!

Hope that helps you out!

Definitely drain the tank, and get rid of that old fuel. Flush the tank til it is clean, put in brand new fuel and another new fuel filter. Joe

check if you have a drain plug in your fuel tank, if none, then there is no easy way but to bring down the whole tank and remove the old fuel. be careful in handling fuel.

If it's the front seal, You have to remove the yoke and pull old seal out and tap in a new one. If it's the cover seal, remove bolts, drain fluid, clean off old gasket, install new gasket with a film of sealant and re-install.
