Battery will not stay charged

I have a 92 CBR 600. I have purchased 2 new batteries. Bike cranks up fine and I can ride for about an hour then it goes dead. I have to charge it again in order for it to run again. It's clearly not the battery. What else could it be?

SOURCE: I have a 2003 Honda

Hi, asuming the battery is in good condition and has no dead cells, sounds like you have a charging problem, this could be simply a loose conection caused by corrosion, check the plug at the regulator rectifier, gently pull on the wires at the plug on both ends, look for corrosion, separate the plug and check inside it for corrosion, clean if ness, running a motorcycle with a discharged battery can cause damage to the machines electrical systems, including frying the ecu and stator, under normal conditions a. Battery can last up to 3years, (some may last longer) if in any doubt replace the battery

SOURCE: Bike not charging

Sounds like regulator/rectifier, stator, or charging rotor.

SOURCE: Bike cranks and runs fine,

Sounds like an alternator or charging problem.
Check to see if you are getting around 14v on your battery with the engine running.
If not you will have to investigate your alternator etc.

SOURCE: I got a 2008 cbr 600 rr I put 3 new battery on it

Put a charger on the battery for two or three hours. Now start the bike up and use a voltmeter to measure the voltage across the two battery terminals while the engine is running around 2000 rpm. The meter should read around 14 volts. If not, the charging system needs to be checked. If the charging system is working properly then yes, something is draining the battery. You will need to check all the wiring and switches to locate the source.

SOURCE: brand new battery dosent stay

You need to check the charging current and also the discharging of the battery in the IDLE mode.
Please check this link for some tips.

Use a multimeter to check the charging current and also discharging rate when the engine is switched off.

The alternator and accessories must be checked.

My battery on my 94 Honda cbr 600 f2 wont hold a charge I jump it and it will run for a short while then die

With a voltmeter check to see if terminals show several volts higher than battery specs when bike is running. If so then replace battery. If not have charging system checked out.

My 95 f3 will crank but wont start. everything was working fine replace a headlight now it wont start with the starter. battery is charged and i can push start it but the engine just cranks and cranks and...

Sounds like a wire or plug got disconnected while changing the headlight out, the harness that connects to the clutch safety switch, the one that lets the ignition fire when cranking only when the clutch is pulled in. A safety feature so you don't dump the bike if you crank it while in gear.

Battery problems

After you start the bike put the headlight on high beam. Rev the engine and the light should get a bit brighter. If it stays the same or dims the battery is discharging.

If you have a meter, take off the seat and start the bike. Place the meter in DC Voltage mode and place the red probe on the + side of the battery and the - probe on the negative side. It should read 12v to 14v. Start the bike. The voltage should rise to over 13V or at least higher than it read when the bike is not running. If you rev the engine the voltage should also rise a 1/2 volt or so.

If the voltage remains the same or decreases you have a charging problem. Here are the two most likely fixes.

Tighten the battery connections.
The rectifier is not working. It is located on the right rear of the bike under the seat fairing. The rectifier converts the AC voltage coming out of the alternator to DC voltage which is what the battery needs to stay charged.
