Hi, First let me tell you I hate these kinds of questions as sometimes people don't like the answers and we are not really solving a problem so please don't give me a bad rating for telling you what I think. What I think is you have do decide this based on how you ride. If you are a gear jammer, clutch popper or revver you should probably change it with the oil even though it is not required. If you are just using your bike for going to work and back and it is not getting ridden hard then you probably don't need to. Soooooo, bottom line is your choice and you have my recommendation. Godd luck, this should Fixya!

Hi,
It is best to always change the filter every time you change the oil. By changing the filter, you remove the impurities that the filter has collected.
Hope this helps

Does my 2009 kia sorrento 3.3 liter have a timing belt or timing chain and when should it be replaced if at all?

Dont know offhand to be honest ,if it is a timing chain then its running in oil and should ever need changing although the tensioners may need changing after 250,000 miles or so but again this depends how regular the oil is changed i recomend around 5000miles with a oil filter every thrid oil change but opinions vary on this

I have a 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer that seems to be losing oil pressure then dying. I just changed the oil and the levels are fine. Not sure where to start... any ideas?

if this just started when you changed the oil and filter, then it might be the filter,it did it in my 89 jeep so i changed the filter to another brand and my oil pressure came back to normal.so i would recomend and stp or k&n or wix filter.if that doesnt then start looking at the oil pressure sensor and wire lead.you could also use a mechanical oil pressure guage and check it that way to.

What maintenance should be done on a 2006 Toyota Corolla with 74,000 mil on it--due for a reugular oil change. What about belts and hoses?

The owners manual gives recomended things to look for every 3k-5k miles. Generally though, major services are done at 30k, 60k, and 90k miles and oil and filters are done with an inspection of belts, hoses, tires, brakes, and fluids at the oil changes, with filters changed as needeed at that time. I would recomend changing the brake fluid out, flush the cooling system, and giving it a good look over since it's 5years old, then you'll be good till your 90k service / inspection. Change your oil every 3-4k miles, check your tires once a week when you get gas. Your timing belt may be coming up for replacing also, but look at the manual. You may not need to do that till 100k miles. When it does come time though, I'd change the idlers / bearings and the tentioner while it's apart, that way all the spinning parts will be new. If the water pump is in there also, and it has'nt been done yet, I'd do it too. You don't want a coolant leak 3-6 months later after all the other work was done. Save up now for it and you won't be hit with a shocker bill when you get the work done. Plan on 2 days and about $1200.00 for parts and labor.

I need to change the oil on my 2000 Hyundai Accent L. It is a new car to me, so I have never changed the oil on this car before, but have changed oil on numerous other cars I've owned in the past. The car...

oil capicity is just under 5 litres with filter ,use a cheap oil and change it every 6000 miles and a oil filter every third oil change and it will last forever ,not bad cars these but a bit tinny feeling compared to a ford focus or a VW ,also the manual gearboxes can end up with syncro problems if drivien boy racer style and a slow easy gearchange is recomended .but driven well these cars can and do last for years without any major problems

WHEN DO I DHANGE THE OIL? HOW MANY MILES TO

manufacturer recomends every 5000 miles, I personaly recomend every 3 thousond miles and always use the toyota brand oil filter or you will be replacing the timing chain early. If your oil indicator light is on then check the level of oil. If it is low this will cause it to come on, also if the oil gets too thin from not being changed it will lower the oil pressure making the light come on, worst case is the oil pump can go out and the light will come on because of no oil pressure.

A light came on, a little yellow triangle light, and a note that said oil maintenance required.

Check the engine oil level. if low add 1/2 quart and re check untill full. GO get oil change. DO NOT RUN if oil is not showing on the dip stick. The oil weight is in the owners manual.

I have a 99 Beetle 2.0 every time I have the oil changed it leaks oil about a quarter size every day. What could this be

You say that every time you have the oil changed it leaks, but you don't say for how long. I am going to approch this from two diffrent angles, the first being that the leak only lasts for a day or two after the change, in this case I would say that what you are seeing is what got spilled, most likely from the filter being removed, or something else during the servicing. On the other hand if this drip continues untill the next oil change, I would recomend that the drain plug gasket is also changed at next oil change.
