My radio on my82 honda goldwing dont have sound

The radio turns on lights up the radio stations therte but im not getting any sound its a 1982 honda goldwing 1100 interstate

I have a similar problem with a Panasonic radio in my 1984 Goldwing 1200I. In my situation, the radio sometimes works, sometimes it does not (and the cassette player does not work when the radio does not work). Oddly enough, it typically seems to work when I leave for work in the morning. When I leave work late in the day, I have the same problem described by lalaa 111. I can also add that when it is not working, I can press the tuner button and it will continually scan but never "lock in" on a frequency. Park it overnight. Start it again in the morning....and it works. Very frustrating!

There are several possibilities. First, if the clock and cassette door are affected, it is a low voltage feed issue.. bad connectors, corroded terminals, etc. This voltage feed is from the 5 amp fuse in the very bottom of the relay box to the right of the main fuse block (i.e. not in the main fuse box).. clean check this fuse... If the low volume is FM only, it is internal to the radio.. in this case, another symptom is that the search/seek feature never locks on a station.. Typically this is a problem with a component on the board.. only place I know that works on them is Sierra Electronics in Troy Ohio, but others probably exist..

Did something happen recently that may have caused this? We assume the sound was working before? Have you tried also, other sources, like tape or cd for sound? Does it have a CB? We're looking to see if you have ANY sound from ANY function of this radio. Oh, which radio is it? Clarion? Honda? If you have a communicator headset also with this, does that produce any sound?

SOURCE: my radio on my82 honda goldwing dont have sound

the key needs to be on to set the clock, and the radio may be set to headset or muted, Use the key to remove the radio clean contacts and try that.

1982 1100 goldwing innerstate no power to the lights or nutural light want come on but im getting a lil spark to the plugs fuses are all good

I'm not a Honda expert but I think in '82 the lights had to be turned on with an extra twist of the switch. Not like today's machines where the lights came on with the ignition. If this is the case, you could have a bad switch. Otherwise, you need a wiring diagram to trace everything out. A GoldWing is a bit of an electrical nightmare.
