The warranty should be at least one year.
Try a warranty repair or replacement.

Brand new camera, never used Fuji Film JX650. I opened up it tried to turn it on. It didn't work. I plugged it in and left it charging for about 9 hours over night. I tried to power it up the next day. nothing. no power when it's not plugged in. Plug it in and it comes on. WTH? It is brand new! I even bought a new battery thinking that was the problem. It still won't work. same problem.

SOURCE: Nikon D60 won't turn on and the battery is

Usually, when your battery has been in the charger long enough for it to be fully charged, the indicator light either changes color, or turns off. This indicates that the charge is complete.
Does your light do either, change color or turn off?
If neither of these works right, check your user manual, usually in the back, which will tell you what the indicator lights mean.
If your camera and battery are doing what they are supposed to be doing, then you may have bought a faulty camera, or the battery which came with it was faulty.
Be certain to read the manual very carefully, to be certain that you are following the instructions properly. If you have done everything right, then return the camera and or battery to the place from which you purchased the camera, and have them check it out to ensure that all is proper.

SOURCE: Camera won't power up

Mine was the microswitch that tells the camera the battery / card door is closed. The tiny, cheap plastic protrusion that pushes on the switch broke off. Jam the switch with the end of a toothpick.

SOURCE: Kodak M340 lens extends then retracts immediately

I had the same problem after a day at the beach. What I did was get a can of compressed air (from the computer section) and blow air around the lens as I repeatedly turned it on. It took about five cycles, but I eventually cleared whatever was preventing the lens from fully opening.

Good luck.

If it's only 2 months old, it is still under warranty...you should take advantage of that.

Battery will not hold charge

If the rechargable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

I haven't turned the camera on for a couple of years. I've tried charging the battery, but I can't get it to power up. Do I need to replace battery or is it something else?

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on, or works intermittently are the battery contact points, ensuring that they're clean, and making good contact with the battery. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

How long did you let it charge, when the device is completely drained of power it may not turn on at first when you connect it. Let it charge for a little while and come back to see if it fixes it. Failing that, your probably going to have to contact apple for warranty help.
