I can't find any records at all but, I do know that in 79 I had the KLX and it was a 4 stroke, in the following year they switched to the KX 2 stroke. I did find online people having these also in 94 and 95. So far, we know they were made at least those 15 years.

Easy to find! Just phone your local Kawasaki dealer with the VIN numbers and they can give you all the information you want. In the off chance the dealer is too busy or just doesn't want to please a customer, just Google ' Kawasaki motorcycle texas ' and you will have plenty of other dealers you can call. Use your own state or any state in the Google search.

I am trying to find out what size and year my engine is

Ok, no problem. Copy down your VIN number and go to a decoding site.
A Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is the string of 17 numbers and letters that an automobile manufacturer assigns to an individual vehicle. The VIN can reveal a number of things about a car, including its airbag type, country of origin, engine size, model year and trim level. The VIN also is key to car safety. By entering a VIN in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's free VIN Look-up Tool, you can see whether a vehicle is subject to a recall. Typically, the VIN is stamped into a plate that's mounted on the dashboard near the windshield or on the driver-side door jamb. It's also stamped on the engine's firewall.

Engine codes for cubic inch and year of chevys

There should be a VIN number somewhere on the block. If you can locate the VIN, then go on the internet and Google "VIN decoder". It will give you the original year, make and model of vehicle it was installed in.

Engine number decode. I am hunting for a 1998 supra 2jz-gte engine for a swap. Can I tell the year and verify USDM vs JDM from the engine serial number? I will not know the original VIN.

The answer to this question is yes. However you will need to have a Mitchell Manual or call the Dealer. If you have the original Vehicle VIN code you can call the Toyota dealer and they can tell you based on the line sheet which engine exactly went in the original vehicle.
Then you can use this to contact either a engine rebuilder like Casper Engines, or you local shops and they should be able to help you with any interchanging parts.

Engine identifcation and year. engine number is FH12069.its in a ford truck

all the information that you need can be decoded from the vin number(unless you suspect that it is not the original motor in the vehicle)I just looked at a bunch of motor numbers and not one looks like the number you posted. Are you sure that that number is the motor number and not the casting number?

I have a VIN descriptor page from an older Victory Manual that tells me my new 2011 Victory Cross Roads has a chassis from a Hammer 8-Ball. Do you know if Victory has amended their VIN designations in the...

A Victory Dealership can read the VIN and tell you what is legally attached too so can Instavin but the dealership is free.

There are also VIN decoders on line that give you a vague idea of the vehicle and origin etc.

Need year of engine

The frame number is the Vehicle Identification Number. If the engine is the original engine, then the engine is the same year as decoded from the frame number. If it is not the original engine, you are hosed as to determining the year of the engine. The engine numbers will not identify what year the engine is. The only identifier is the frame number. Engine numbers are useless since they only denote the engine size, assembly plant, and sequence of that engine in a production run. You can go to the site below and enter the frame number into the VIN decoder to get the year and other information. Note; back in 1985 the manufacturers adopted 17 digit VIN. If you have less than 17 digits you are out of luck. Please rate my answer. Thanks. http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vin/kawasaki.asp
