you have a charger thats kicking out 45 amps,,,just how much more do you need? i know the lady sayes she's cold, but realy???? why not strap a 2500watt jenny to it and she could have a kettel to make hot drinks on it as well as run the heated blanket and the **** warmer???? if you could put a bigger charger on it the motor could not turn it over, trust me,,, the only real way is ,,,dont ride it if its cold! or get some realy thick wooly knickers,, after all look at it this way,,,

SOURCE: BMW 650 Dakar. Sudden high revs and the engine shuts down

It would appear that you probably have a fuel starvation problem, if the engine is running normally and suddenly revs up and cuts out this points to a very weak mixture then fuel starvation. I would suggest that you clean your fuel lines and tank etc.

2002 650 Dakar, sometimes fail to idle and cuts out under 4000 rpm when slowing down.Mileage 25000 km

there is so many things that could make the bike do this. I'm going to give you a list of things i would check.
fuel system, poor charging system, the ground wire both battery and body sides, spark plug wire and boot. give it a look over hope one will solve it.
