SOURCE: I have 1997 Harley Lowrider. Left turn signal
sounds like the bulb in the rear one has blown and needs replacing.
SOURCE: do not have rear turn signals but the front
The turn signals are controlled by the turn signal cancelling unit. There is a wiring sub-harness that take the turn signal wires to the rear turn signals. There should be two grey wires with a brown ring on one wire and a violet ring on the other. Trace these wires out and check for sorts or open circuits. Maybe the plug came unplugged. Good Luck

2005 sportster custom will only run with choke on
SOURCE: Only right turn signal works.
Ok, there is only a few things that could cause this. They include:
handlebar directional switch on inoperative side not functioning.
broken or disconnected wire in the directional switch circuit
a possible combination of causes found in problem #1.
module malfunction.
You need to test the left turn signal switch to make sure it has voltage going to it and when you press the switch, 12 volts is going to the turn signal cancelling unit. This 12 volt pulse from the switch is what tells the module to turn the left turn signals on. Without the pulse, the module doesn't know you've pressed the switch. You may need a wiring diagram to trace this out. Sorry but I don't have one for that year model.
Good Luck

Probably a bad Turn Signal Module located under your dash speedo...remove your dash and speedo then you will access to the module.....
