Could be a spring or it could be a gear or it could be an adjustment. I don't know where you live. In my area, opening up a engine case is at least $100.00. As you consider the situation, keep in mind that there may be broken parts floating around in your crank case/gear box. A broken part in the gears in the transmission will be lots more than the $100.00. You don't mention anything about make, model or year of your motorcycle, btw, making a more definitive response impractical.

Your best coourse of action may be to go to the local motorcycle shop and speak with the service writer about your problem. That will be no charge.

There is a "C" clip with a stem at a right angle as a part of the clip. This is a part of the kick starter mechanics. Replace the clip. It is about one inch in diameter.

Check your 2 stroke oil reservoir, got a feeling it's bone dry. If so your cylinder is scored and will need some machining, new piston and rings....Good luck to you friend...Tim

SOURCE: Apache quad 100cc Bike will

this typically comes down to basics. you engine needs air, fuel and spark to run. FUEL - pull the main fuel hose in to the carb from gas tank and turn on to be sure fuel is getting to the carb. SPARK - next pull out spark plug and while still connected to igntion cap, touch end of plug to motor and turn over engine. if you do not see spark, this is your issue and is usually the most common issue. if spark is present, spray starting fluid into the spark plug hole, reinstall plug and try to start, if it trys to start as in starts then dies, your not getting fuel past or from your carb. Clean carb. AIR - last but not least check your air filter and insure it is not clogged or obstructed and is allowing air to the engine. As for no spark, the can be many issues from a bad CDI ignition coil or generator/stator to just a bad kill switch or cut/unplugged wire.

Linhai Yamaha 100cc 2 stroke 2005. Kickstart not catching. Could this be down to the gear in the kickstart. Would appreciate any help and rough price to fix if anyone knows. Cheers kev

This looks familiar ... with a little more info. Coujld be an adjustment, a spring or a broken part. I suggest you disccuss with the service writer at your Yamaha shop before yo do anything.

I see they are selling in the UK for 400 to 900 pounds ...I dont know what that is in US $, seems yours is probably worth repairing.

I have just picked up a 1967 yamaha yl2 100cc bike, can someone tell me what grade of oil to run in the autolube system please?? Thanks

On a machine as old as this any present-day 2-stroke oil will outperform the original manufacturers specification.

I think you might want to change catagories, I found this under Bicycles. Also, I was curious as to how you can list it as a Quad Bike . . . Bike is a short term for Bicycle, Bi meaning 2 as in 2 wheels.
