Have you tried spraying wd40 into the lock and letting it sit? sometimes if you do that and insert the key and tap lightly on the key it will free up.

Motorcycle will push start but not ignition switch start

Does it turn over when trying to start? If no then it could be the starter, switch, or battery. Sounds like the starter, especially if you tried another switch.

When i try to start my 1988 mustang gt. I have to hold the key over to keep it started if i let it go it shuts off?

it may need a little adjust in the ignition switch not the key cylinder but the electric switch it is located in the steering column under dash and is hold by two screws you will need a 5/16 wrench to loose these screws and push the switch a little to the front then tight the screws i hope this help you fix it i'll be happy to assist you if you have further questions please let me know if this was useful.

I tired to bypass the switch and put all the wires together lights came on and its turning over but im not getting any fire to the plugs ninja 500ex

You need the stock ignition switch in order for it to trigger a relay inside the igniter, then it will spark, this is part of Kawasaki's anti-tamper proof ignition system.

I have a 1988 honda civic it shuts down while Im driving. It will start up again after a few minutes. I replaced the fuel pump but the problem is still on going. please help me

Sounds like your fuel pump relay is going bad. On most honda models this is located under the dash on the driver's side of the car. If the relay is okay, then the next step would be to replace the iginition switch. On my 1988 Honda it would not start up after I shut it off and went into the store and came back out. My brother's Honda would just shut down when turning a corner or changing lanes. After changing his fuel pump and fuel filter, we changed the ignition switch and that solved the problem. If I were you I would change the ignition switch.

I'm not getting any spark to the plugs. Wondering if it is the ignition coils.

I have the same problem... I replaced the distributor, distributor cap, button, control module, Ignition coil and even put a ignition/start switch on it.... and it finally fired up after the coil.. BUT..... it died 2 days later and i took the coil back for an exchange and it worked.... BUT.... it died on me when the truck warmed up and still does... Someone told me to check the CAMSHAFT POSITIONING SENSOR... makes sense so im gonna try that tomorrow and hope for the best.
