Just wonderin if can tel me how to get my aprilia sxv 550 started, the starter works fine when botton pushed, then it sounds like it might fire up, then it just cuts out, i have bin told they dont like the cold and battery needs to fully charged. so iv brought new bat, but how do ya warm ya engine if the thing wont start

My 2006 SXV had the same problem I think. I would turn over & over but no firing ?
Don't give up - just get it to the Rocket Centre @ Blackburn. They fixed mine desp[ite my local dealer saying it was a new engine job. Very few dealers (in the North at least) have any idea how to fix an SXV
There is a new set of starting gears available FOC from prillia which will probably fix the problem straight away. Mine needed a new stator too and valve buckets which were compounding the problem but the whole thing cost me less than £100 thanks to the free upgrade from prillia.

Take the pilot jet out and clean it, while your at it take the main out to and clean it along with the entire float bowl and internal carb. adjust your fuel screw ,maybe put it back to stock specs if its not. u should be fine with this info

cheers mate. think the bikes a lost cause just found out that the previous owner couldnt start it either and returned it t0 dealer, so iv done the same. shame i never got to ride it the few pops it did make sounded the bollox
