Steps to trouble shoot a horn system
If your Air Bag light light is aluminated and The Cruise Control does not Work then the Problem is in the "CLOCK SPRING" this Component is Located Under the Steering Wheel and it requires the Steering Wheel to Be Removed. You Must have Complete Instructions on this Procedure or Injury Can Be the result.
Here's a possible shortcut to help find out if the horn, breaker and relay is good. If you have a keyless remote for the car activate the panic button, this pulses the horn, some models toot the horn when you lock the doors. If it sounds off you saved yourself a few steps without getting dirty no tools required.if not back to the wiring at steering wheel or horn buttons.
First check the fuse with a test light or multi-meter. Ok? check that power is getting to the horn- locate the horn, remove the wire to it and while someone presses the horn button your steering wheel check for power (continuity) to the horn. Ok? Bad Horn. not ok? check if there is a relay controlling the circuit and check for continuity to it. One of the wires to it should be hot (energized) when you press the horn button and not when the button is not pressed. No? maybe bad horn button or wiring to the relay from the horn button. The relay should make a clicking noise when it closes the circuit routing power to the horn itself and you should be able to check for the curcuit closing, 2 wires should be hot witht the button pressed that arent when not pressed. OK? problem is between the relay and the horn. Not ok ? No power to relay means either there is a fault in the wiring or your horn or button is bad. Replacing the horn button should be done by a pro unless you know how to disable the airbag system without it blowing up in your face. Give us an update, Good Luck.
Usually when Your horn won't work the wire in your steering wheel isn't connected to the feed, try hooking these back together.
