The proper air gap is .032 to .036 depending on spark plug brand.

SOURCE: oil drain plug

Follow the hose that goes to the frame from the oil tank. Loosen the clamp and pull.

Put a new battery in the fob.....they are only good for about a two years usually.

Spitting and sputtering sounds like a fuel problem. Have you checked the fuel flow from the fuel petcock. It's vacuum operated and sometimes the diaphragm gets a hole in it. When this happens, it doesn't open properly. When acceleratign, the manifold vacuum is low anyway dut the carburetor being wide open. Pull the fuel hose off and spin the engine with the starter while watching the fuel flow. If it's not a good flow, you may want to replace the petcock.

Unless an aftermarket device has been installed on your bike, you must take it to a dealer to get the fuel map reworked.

I'm having trouble with the carburetor on a Sportster. I just change the jet kit on it and the intake seal and the spark plug. But i still doing the say thing. When to get hot it hesitation and stalling. Can you help me on this one thank you.
