My battery drains fast when i am playing the radio, but it starts the car absolutely perfect even after long periods of the car being stationery
Research your factory battery cold cranking amps usually listed on the top of your battery or compare owners manual battery spec. Wise to meet/exceed these amps with your replacement battery. ie Autozone Gold is a 1000 CCA battery in many appications. 3 year free replacement etc...compare prices at Costco, AutoZone, Interstate, sometimes the Sears Diehard, but can be limited in applications. I use the Autozone Duralast Gold, about $108. w/exchange. Don't be surprised to be able to increase the CCA by a couple hundred over the factory battery...this is a good thing:) Hope this helps.
Yes and that was due to bad installation. I
have had 3 car stereos installed on my 98 RAV4 through Best Buy and never had
battery problems. I even had 2 amps installed as well but the installers had to
make me buy this 200-dollar thing that would not drain the battery.
If you are getting a drain through the
radio's power supply it could eventually drain down the battery if it was
improperly installed, I would pull the fuse for the radio and see if the drain
continues, if the drain does not stop there is another short somewhere. To
